    My recollection is in late 60s, early 70s is $3 for bleachers, walking up to the window. But that could be wrong. It seems too high.

And why would the three teams with the most successful media model want to give that up to join clubs that do not have that? Not a sports economist. Not "we're going to improve"; Not "I think we're going to improve"; not even "we have to be open to improving" but "I THINK we have to be open to improving," What GM would say "I don't think we should be open to improving."

    I think when you sign FAs like Ohtani and F. Freeman and Yamamoto (and acquire a few role players and scrubs like Betts and T, Hernandez), you know exactly what the impact will be. When you acquire players like Verdugo and Story and Yoshida and E. Hernandez--all decent players--then you're right, you have no idea what will happen.

    Listening to fans of a .500 team trash-talk a WS team is a bit on the curious side.

    Anyone who doubts the virtue of shedding salary (Story for Betts), or saving money and not wasting it on the latest flash in the pan (Yoshida for Ohtani), should have those doubts erased after last night.

    I'm sure this has been taken up at length, but I'm baffled. What on earth is the point of running Devers out there every night? He is obviously not right (for whatever reason). He is being turned into a .250 hitter.
