  1. Whatever it is, they probably know the diagnosis by now anyway. Endoscopies and biopsies do not take four days to come back. Nor do cultures. The delay in letting the fans know is concerning.
  2. Thats not the way I saw it. Could be wrong.
  3. Kevin Garnett woulda had it.
  4. It was just a matter of time with Doubront tonite. Leave him in the game and he was bound to surrender more runs. Seven runs surrendered. Pathetic. Gonna be tough to win this game now. Maybe the Guardians will come back from six runs down against the Yankees tonite...
  5. He is injured. Also, he wouldn't play regularly up in the ML, and he needs reps.
  6. IBD is hardly benign. Its a miserable disease to have. I had many patients with it. Its a life changer. I can't see how anyone can be a ML pitcher with that. For his sake I hope its less serious than that, but that certainly one of the top choices given what we know. Salmonella or Shigella could do it too I suppose. Or an ulcer. All of those would be preferable.
  7. There was zero chance of contact there though. Gave away a strike.
  8. WTF is Punto doing swinging on a pitchout. Idiot.
  9. Tie game. Wonder if Jacko is still enjoying the game as much.
  10. Got it. IBD is not the same as IBS. The former is much more serious for both the ball player and the person; it is a major major illness.
  11. The Sox played some incredibly sloppy baseball against the Cubs too. Fully worthy of two last place teams, which they were at the time.
  12. Thats an almost impossible play to make.
  13. The Jays are trying to give the game back
  14. Do you have an update on Buchholz?
  15. Thats not saying much, I'm afraid. Our overall pitching has sucked this year.
  16. No, I’m saying your expectations are too high for a 5th slot rookie starter. He’s had great games and that just goes out the window for you because he is laying an egg. What pitcher on this staff hasn’t done that this year? I’d go as far as say he’s been our second or third best pitcher this year. "Pitcher"=any pitcher on our staff. Look, you don't want to admit that Doubront has been mediocre this year. Thats fine. Believe what you want despite that proof I offered you. Time to move on.
  17. Staff=the entire staff Starting staff=starting pitchers only Fact is, even if you compare him to starting pitchers, he is still mediocre. Coming into this game, for AL pitchers throwing at least 60 innings, Doubront ranked 32nd of the 58 pitchers. Thats IS mediocre, no matter which team he plays for. If you compare him to our s***** starting pitchers to try to make him look good, he is STILL mediocre-third best ERA of our 5 pitchers. Neither good nor bad. Mediocre. http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/pitching/_/league/al/qualified/false/order/false/minip/60
