  1. Since July 12 he is hitting .197/.597 in almost 70 PAs. He just had a hot streak, but he really isn't a great hitter.
  2. This team has given up...no life at all. Must be very demoralizing when you get ahead or score 6 -7 runs in a game but your pitchers surrender 8-9.
  3. Lets not kid ourselves about ERod....he might be the best we have but he is hardly "good". His ERA coming in is 4.13 with a WHIP of nearly 1.3. He has a lot of wins because the team tends to score runs for him.
  4. Cora isn't getting a pass from me, not with the way he failed to get his SP ready for the beginning of the season. Started off seven games under .500. Sure could use those seven games now.
  5. Well that didn't last long. This team totally sucks. All of them
  6. I don't mind if we suck for a year or two. Not at all. Its coming. There are no more dynasties in baseball. All I would like to see is an honest effort out there, and too often this season I am not seeing it. Two examples from last night's game: Devers failed to attempt to catch a playable foul ball (he gave up on it) and one of the Rays hits traveled about 15 feet down the first base line because our pitcher and our catcher didn't properly communicate as to who was taking the ground ball. Numerous other examples of playing brain dead baseball and brain dead managing this year exist. THAT is what I find inexcusable about this season.
  7. It will likely come down to the last week with the Rays and A's vying for the berth. We will be at least five games out by the end of the Yankees series, more than likely. I am sure the Yankees would just love to drive the final nail into our coffins like we did to them last August when we swept the four game series at Fenway from them. Sure was fun, last year. This year....not so much.
  8. Oh well. At least Cora is calling a team meeting. That should solve everything.
  9. I agree with that part. But starting the season 7 games under .500 wasn't a good plan, and it was a direct result of the SPs not being ready. Again, if they had just played .500 ball they would be right there contending for at least a WC spot. Cora made a mistake. Because he did so well last year I would give him one more year. But after that, no playoffs......and he is gone.
  10. And Cora gets one more year. If they fail to make the playoffs again Cora gets fired.
  11. Wrong. The ST plan explains why this team has been playing behind the 8 ball all year. I think we were under .500 by something like 7 games by May 1. If we had even played .500 ball we would be right in the middle of the WC race. It put a lot of pressure on the team ALL YEAR LONG. That has to have an effect. Being 7 games under .500 right from the start has a direct impact on the standings and mental state of the team right now, on August first.
  12. Its not his fault. Its the fault of the stiffs on the field. These guys, especially the pitchers, have just mailed it in this year. Its also on Cora, who failed to prepare his SPs to start the season. The talent is there. DD has assembled a good amount of talent. Its not his fault that they are not focused this year. Thats on the stiffs on the field, and its on Cora.
  13. By the end of the Yankee series the Sox will be down by at least five games out of the last wild card spot.
  14. What else can you say about this team? Just a useless group of bums. The talent is there. John Henry knows it. He said as much in an interview today. They just played this season with their heads up their collective asses.
  15. Cashner is going to walk in a run.
  16. Betts should have had that.
  17. Why is no one up in the pen??
  18. It got 84% on Rotten Tomatoes. Its probably not bad.
  19. Its hard to go back to back in any sport. The Patriots will at least play hard and smart. The Red Sox are just mailing it in this year. Since the Brady era began the Patriots NEVER mail it in.
  20. Runner on third nobody out. No runs
  21. Moreland should never be in the lineup-ever.
  22. It doesn't matter. No one is going to catch the Yankees in the ALE this year. But now the Astros have the guns to beat the Yankees and go to the WS.
  23. So far in this game a Rays player got a base hit that traveled probably 15 feet because the Sox didn't communicate about who was going to field it and Devers gave up on a playable foul ball. This shows a total lack of focus. Its a problem this year. How often did that happen last year? Never?
  24. Who really cares? This team is going nowhere anyway.
