  1. Remember that Boston is not an easy place to play in. Some of these guys will put up big numbers in their low pressure situations that they couldn't never put up in Boston.
  2. Buchholtz is off to a good start. If he is on the winning streak will continue.
  3. Great start! Its all about the starting pitching. If the Sox consistantly get it they should be okay.
  4. I wouldn't give up on DeLaRosa just yet. A lot of people said a lot of good things about his stuff before he got hurt. Plus the Sox are in no rush with him any way. Getting rocked in AAA is no big deal. It may take a season at AAA for him to get his s*** together.
  5. JBJ just need some more ABs at AAA. His approach to hitting and being selective is too good for him not to be back in the Show at some point.
  6. Ace or no ace the Sox starting pitching is why the team has started the way they have. The Sox will only be as good as their starting pitching.
  7. I agree. Game one he found a way to get on. A high OBP will turn into more runs. You know he will save some runs with his glove. The hope is that what we saw in the opening he can consistantly do.
  8. The amount of injuries the $pankees are going through makes the age of their ball club seem that much older. If their pitching struggles its going to be a long year in the Bronx because they aren't winning games 10-8 this year.
  9. As though as it was for him to give up the dream, it looks like he should be able to lead a normal life.
  10. If Iggy can hit .240 - .250 you have to keep him in the lineup. Drew is on a one year contract and teams will be looking for SS when injuries start to happen. The Sox may have to eat some $$$$, but they might be able to get a prospect. Can't see them keeping him as a utility guy.
  11. I agree 20 million is too much. If Ellsbury has another big year then Boras will ask for more then 20 million per year. At this stage of the rebuild I can't see investing that much for one player even though I like Ellsbury as a player.
  12. Thank God that trade never happened. Besides the $$$$ savings the Sox won a championship with Lester and Ellsbury.
  13. Sox have a lot of potential in the system. Lets hope a good percentage of them pan out.
  14. As a Sox fan I love what A-Rod brings to the $pankees and at top $$$$$$$. I would be hurt if some how they found a way to void his contract. Best case situation is that he finishes out his contract in the Bronx and makes many of the back page of the Dailey News doing A-Rod s***.
  15. On paper the Nats have the best team in baseball. They don't have a lot of holes.
  16. Even with A-Rod down for at least a half a season it looks like he will be a distraction for the $pankees. You have to love A-Rod for that.
  17. Braun has some good lawyers that got him off the first time, so I don't see any of this sticking again. The baseball fans out side of Milwaukee question his numbers though.
  18. The Cards always seem to find pitchers who can help them win. I hate to see guys careers end because of injuries, but you can't feel to sorry for the Cards.
  19. Don't know if Overbay has anything left. But on a minor league deal I guess the Sox can't go wrong.
  20. The book could effect his relationship with current players on the Guardians. I think a lot of ball players take the if it happens in the club house it stays in the club house very seriously.
  21. I agree! I loved what Wakefield did for the Sox, but I was never confident on what was going on when he was pitching. With a knuckle ball pitcher things can go bad quickly. Now Wright is suppose to throw a harder knuckle ball like Dickey, and you never know. There are so few of them that they give hitters a hard time. With that said if Wright is pitching big innings in 2013 then a lot went wrong for the Sox.
  22. I agree that if the 2013 version of the Sox blows up then they will start bringing the kids up and get what they can for some of the older pieces. If the 2013 version competes then that is great, and if they tank and the kids get to play I can live with that. Either way it beats the crap that we watched in 2012.
  23. Its a minor league deal and he has to produce in the spring to make the trip north with the Sox. I agree they can do as many of these minor league deals and if they get lucky with one who can help them win some games this summer then that is a positive. Overbay won't hurt you with the glove, but can he still help with the bat?
  24. Youk gave his all to the Sox while he was in Boston, but he is in decline and is no longer an all-star player. The best days for Youk are behind him so I can't get mad at him for taking some of that $pankee $$$$$.
  25. Best case for Lackey is that he is healthy and he can pitch close to where he was at with the Angels. If he is the 5th starter then that would be a positive for the Sox. Sox need as many positives with their SP that they can get to be competitive in the AL where I see at least 6 teams on paper better then us.
