Molina hitting .170 and smacks that one. If Sox don't get into the Rays bullpen it doesn't look good. Lackey has thrown a lot of pitches the last two innings. Need a double play.
Nice to see him get out of that mess. Lackey threw a lot of pitches that inning. Probably won't go deep into the game so the bullpen will be front and center again.
Bad formula working here. Sox trade for closer, closer gets hurt and is out for the year. Happened last year with Bailey and now Hanrahan. We went from too many closers to none. Not good. We are only as good as our pitching.
The reason why no one on the Jays accused Buchholtz of wrong doing is because they like every team in baseball have guys on their staff that are probably doing it. It would take some big ones to accuse a pitcher on another team of loading up the ball when some of their own are doing the same.
Can this guy stay healthy? Before we trade any of our bullpen depth we need to get everyone healthy. There has been a lot of health issues in the pen already this season.
Leave him in the minors and let him find himself. He needs to be able to get where he was when he was one of the top set up men in baseball. If he can't get it done in AA then he is no good to us. I think it has become a mental thing and he might never return to Boston.
I think the plan is for Doubront to go to the pen. If Webster has a good start tomorrow he will get another one. The Sox bullpen depth will be tested the next few weeks.
Big test this weekend for the Sox. If they have some success on the road against the Rangers this weekend a lot of those known believers may start believing.
If Napoli's production stays like it is Papi will continue putting up big numbers with the protection that Napoli will give Ortiz. He has been better then the Sox could have hoped for.
Remember we are not asking Nava to put up Hamilton type numbers. If he plays solid defence and gets on base a lot he will serve a huge roll with this Red Sox team. When the season ends Hamilton's numbers will be better then Nava, unless there is a major injury. But not signing Hamilton looks like a good call.
I think Boras will take what every is the most money offered. If you look at $panks Cano and him changing agents by dumping Boras, it makes you think there is a better chance now that he remains in New York. I think Cano knew that the $pankee offer would not be the highest and he wants to stay in NY. As long as Boras is Ellsbury's agent I think he walks after the season.
Why is the Blue Jays announcers saying Buchholtz is cheating? You would think it would be a member of the Jays on the playing field. A player, the manager, or a coach. If they are not complaining then this is just a load of crap.
