  1. Or nice young arms for next year and beyond.
  2. I am not really counting on getting anything from him this year in Boston any way. Let him get his act together and maybe a September call up would be in order. The Sox would like to see him succeed as a starter, but would move him to the pen as another power arm if the whole starting thing doesn't work out.
  3. As a 4th OF against lefty pitchers he is not the problem. If he plays every day against both righties and lefties then he is not the solution. If Gomes hit more HRs this year then the two make a great platoon which I think benefits both players over the course of the long season.
  4. Talk about a bad break for this guy.
  5. Bailey needs to stay healthy, because when he has been healthy this year he has pitched well. The Sox bullpen success depends on Bailey being able to effectively close for them.
  6. Good point. The need for starters to consistently go deep into games also is key for a good bullpen. We have seen what happens to a bullpen that is over used early in the season.
  7. Between last season and this season Middlebrooks seems to have a hard time staying healthy. I hope when he returns from his current problem he can stay on the field. Even with a low batting average he still is a threat to go deep on any pitch.
  8. Good bullpens are ones where every member has a role and everyone fills their role effectively. When both Hanrahan and Bailey were hurt the pen struggled because everyone was move from their more effective roles. Tazawa in his first save chance blew it giving up a HR. Your bullpen is only as good as your weak parts.
  9. We need a power bat that can play the corner OF. Gomes isn't getting it done, Nava's weaknesses get exposed the more he plays full time, and Victorina can't seem to stay healthy.
  10. Thats the difference of pitching in the National League compared to the AL East.
  11. I don't know how you can't play Iggy while he is hot. If he is the future SS then let him play and ride this hot streak. When he is hitting like this he is a better player then Drew because he ups the D as well.
  12. Its still early. Lets see where he is at in July at mid-season. If he is still giving us quality starts then maybe the Sox could be in this for the long haul.
  13. Nice rally! Not! The $pankees and their second stringers are winning again. Beating Felix.
  14. What is he swinging at? If I knew the Sox would score all of their runs in the first inning I would have gone to bed early.
  15. Gomes needs to go homes. He sucks. None of those swings were good.
  16. Is there anyone else that would like to grab Rodney's hat and straighten it out. Can we get a rally going.
  17. Molina is killing us. The Sox must be the only team he hits against.
  18. Why can't those hard hit balls find a hole somewhere. I have zero confidence that we can get back in this game. It seems like the Sox are down more then two runs.
  19. I'm surprised he is turning Victorino around. WE NEED A TWO OUT HIT! PLEASE!
  20. Three hits tonight. Two coming in the first inning. One assisted by third base. We got to start taking better swings or its three in a row. The way the Sox are hitting Lester can pitch a great game tomorrow and we still lose with Price going for the Rays.
  21. The home plate ump is having a tough ball-strike night.
  22. Mortenson time usually means the Sox are losing and all hope is lost.
  23. Nice swings that inning. Not! Is anyone else sick of those Amish beards a few Sox are sporting.
