  1. Youk played the game the way you hope all of these high paid athletes, hard! Its is also the reason his career was short. He made the most out of talent and was a big part of what the Sox did for a few years in and around the championship year of 2007. Good glove, high on base, and clutch hits. Thanks Youk!
  2. The Sox will sign one FA starting pitcher (Going hard on Lester) and trade for another clearing some of the OF depth. Cincinnati, San Diego, and Seattle all need OF bat with power and have pitchers to deal so there should be a match for a trade somewhere. Because Cespedes seems like the guy, having multiple teams needing him is a plus.
  3. Just a thought. If the Sox can't get a number 1 starter and go the Royal route and built a shut down bullpen that shortens the game to 6 innings would the Sox go hard after him. Royals went to WS without a number 1 (Shields no longer is that) so this route is an option. Still can't see a team winning it all without an ace.
  4. He is the reason Craig was traded. R.I.P.
  5. Bradley could be a piece in a block buster trade that brings pitching back to the Sox. A lot of those trades have throw in, and he could be that. If it helps get a quality starter I'm good with that.
  6. Jeter is probably glad he is gone and doesn't have to deal with the ARod circus this year.
  7. If he doesn't want to be here, or is going to ask for the moon then deal him to get starting pitching. I could see the Sox trade him and then find a lefty hitting outfielder that would balance the lineup.
  8. Vasquez will be starter to start the season. The Sox will sign or trade for a lefty hitting catcher to be his backup. Unless he improves offensively he will only be holding the spot for Swihart who we could see sometime next summer or as their starter in 2016.
  9. I'm okay with the Koji signing. When he is on he is lights out. The closer spot is one less thing to worry about as the hot stove heats up.
  10. Thanks for 2007! This Buds for you!
  11. This guy will make $pankee spring training like a circus. As a Sox fan you got to love it. You can't make this stuff up.
  12. Sandoval would be a no brainer if his weight was under control. 28 yrs old, hits lefty, and is a decent fielder. That weight thing as he pushes towards 30 could be a problem. Headley would be a safer pickup, but the Panda does have more upside. If the Sox do go after HanRan then they will also target left handed hitting outfielder. They got to add lefties somewhere.
  13. I would listen to any deal involving Buchholz. He is never going to be a consistent 200 inning pitcher the Sox had hoped for. If the right deal comes up I would move him. Don't dump just to get rid of him though.
  14. No way should the Sox think about taking Howard in any deal to get Hamels. He would become the worlds most expensive bench ornimate.
  15. If the right moves are made the Sox could be right back in the race again in 2015. I am kind of looking forward to the off season to begin and the making of the 2015 Sox. It is going to be a busy off season.
  16. I think he has shown he can get righties out so he could be someone's closer.
  17. He was a big part of 2007 so for that I thank him. As good as he was that season it will probably be other things that Sox fans will remember him for.
  18. KC seems to have a little luck on their side despite some questionable decisions by their manager. It has been speed, the bullpen and some timely hitting. I would like to see them win.
  19. If he is still with the Sox in 2015 it will be at AAA, unless injuries allow him to return to CF in Boston. You can't say he didn't get a fair shot of winning the job.
  20. I hope the Sox get one of those productive hitting Cubans with this guy. We will probably see him in a couple of days.
  21. Miller is still being very effective with the O's. What does anyone think about the Sox bringing him back as a potential closer of the future?
  22. Already rumors that he is going hard after Lester.
  23. Believe it or not there are teams that still have interest in WMB's power potential.
  24. If JBJ every finds his stroke I don't think it will be in a Red Sox uniform.
