  1. Yes, they should be looking at 2016. Ben needs to step up on making the staff much better.
  2. Be nice to get a piece for the 2016 rotation. This years staff has been even worse then predicted. So to answer the question, you do need a top of the rotation guy to be competitive.
  3. The numbers game is hurting JBJ. There are so many OFs that the Sox have that I don't think he will be given another real shot. The two times up this year have been short ones. With his glove you just hope he starts to hit. I don't know if that is going to ever happen.
  4. Needs to put up big numbers the rest of the season at AAA. I hope he can find himself and be of value for the Sox down the road.
  5. Bullpen!!! His stuff would be effective for one inning.
  6. 35 of final 79 games against AL East teams. 10 against $pankees. Sox would have to play amazing well to get back in it. Don't think they have the pitching to have that kind of success. The chance is there though.
  7. Its the players. There are too many of them that are producing below expectations. Who is having a good season? Maybe you can say Bogaerts. The offense (The believed strength of the team) has under produced. The starting pitching questionable to start, has dealt with the loss of both catchers (Big hit) and has been inconsistent the whole season.
  8. Because no team in the AL East looks like they can run away, I think there is a chance. Slim, but a chance. Because they play so many games with teams in their division that would also help. I can see all of your trade candidates getting move though.
  9. It would be a lot easier to make the call if the Sox weren't in such a need for starting pitching. Based on the track record over the last few years the Sox will not invest big $$$$$ on a starting pitcher, with the next two years at reasonable $$$$$ Buccholz falls into that category of the type of pitcher the Sox are looking for. Then again his track record has been so up and down. I guess the Sox should field offers and if they are blown away make the deal. If there is no deal like that then keep the team friendly contract.
  10. If Masterson craps out I think we will see Johnson get a shot.
  11. Harrigab coming back this week. What are the Sox going to do with Swihart? If 2015 is over I rather see him get the majority of games behind the plate. He is starting to hit the ball and major league experience behind the dish would be a positive moving forward. I think Vazquez's injury has cost him a shot at being the Sox everyday catcher.
  12. Pedey was having a good season. I hope this isn't something he has a problem with the rest of the season.
  13. No! Play the kids the rest of 2015. This team doesn't have the pitching to make a run.
  14. Sox pitching is so inconsistent they can not put a string of wins together to get back in it. Based on the current make up of the roster, if they make it back to .500 that would be a big accomplishment.
  15. Mookie is playing every day, and Ellsbury is hurt again. He has been out 5 weeks this time. Ellsbury has a lot of talent, but he can't stay on the field.
  16. Hopefully, the OF Benintendi from Arkansas is another piece that pays off for the Sox.
  17. Kelly - pen - now! I know the Cy Young is hard to win from there.
  18. Sox not doing a lot of things the right way.
  19. Brought in as offensive upgrades they both have struggled at times (Panda and H-Ram). I think what gets me the most, is yes both have under performed with the bat, but the poor D at 3B and LF kills me. Between the two of them how many unearned runs are they responsible for?
  20. If we are going to lose I rather let the kids play. E Rod gives hope about building a rotation. Let Swihart continue to get most of the innings behind the plate. Bogaerts is starting to show signs. Even though the average isn't there Betts gives you a lot. Nap and Ramirez no longer fit. I don't know if a contender would take Ramirez as a right handed power bat at DH. Sox pick up some of the money maybe something could get done. My eyes hurt watching him play left. Routine fly balls have become adventures. Nap is on final year of contract and just looks lost. If B. Johnson is ready for a shot do so. Kelly as a starter is not working. A guy who can throw gas for one inning would be a plus at the back end of the bullpen.
  21. This team is hard to watch right now. One night they can't score, and the next ten runs isn't enough. If Betts goes on the DL do they give JBJ a real look? Kelly needs to go to the bullpen as a power arm. He can't put enough innings together to be a starter. It is painful to watch Ramirez in left! He makes Manny look like a gold glover. How can someone who played shortstop (Very athletic position) look so lost? It is going to be a long summer!
  22. This is going to be another player that the Sox will move from his natural position. If he isn't going to play second for them, move him now. Its hard watching these guys learn to play positions while in Boston.
  23. This team doesn't get the two out hits to score. Now that it is getting warmer this team has to start scoring more runs. The Sox pitching is not going to win too many 3-2 games.
  24. He is on the DL already with the A's.
