  1. I'm okay with the Koji signing. When he is on he is lights out. The closer spot is one less thing to worry about as the hot stove heats up.
  2. Thanks for 2007! This Buds for you!
  3. This guy will make $pankee spring training like a circus. As a Sox fan you got to love it. You can't make this stuff up.
  4. Sandoval would be a no brainer if his weight was under control. 28 yrs old, hits lefty, and is a decent fielder. That weight thing as he pushes towards 30 could be a problem. Headley would be a safer pickup, but the Panda does have more upside. If the Sox do go after HanRan then they will also target left handed hitting outfielder. They got to add lefties somewhere.
  5. I would listen to any deal involving Buchholz. He is never going to be a consistent 200 inning pitcher the Sox had hoped for. If the right deal comes up I would move him. Don't dump just to get rid of him though.
  6. No way should the Sox think about taking Howard in any deal to get Hamels. He would become the worlds most expensive bench ornimate.
  7. If the right moves are made the Sox could be right back in the race again in 2015. I am kind of looking forward to the off season to begin and the making of the 2015 Sox. It is going to be a busy off season.
  8. I think he has shown he can get righties out so he could be someone's closer.
  9. He was a big part of 2007 so for that I thank him. As good as he was that season it will probably be other things that Sox fans will remember him for.
  10. KC seems to have a little luck on their side despite some questionable decisions by their manager. It has been speed, the bullpen and some timely hitting. I would like to see them win.
  11. If he is still with the Sox in 2015 it will be at AAA, unless injuries allow him to return to CF in Boston. You can't say he didn't get a fair shot of winning the job.
  12. I hope the Sox get one of those productive hitting Cubans with this guy. We will probably see him in a couple of days.
  13. Miller is still being very effective with the O's. What does anyone think about the Sox bringing him back as a potential closer of the future?
  14. Already rumors that he is going hard after Lester.
  15. Believe it or not there are teams that still have interest in WMB's power potential.
  16. If JBJ every finds his stroke I don't think it will be in a Red Sox uniform.
  17. Holt's lack of power makes him more valuable as a super sub then as a regular. The Sox need more power out of their every day lineup so Holt will come off the bench. If Betts is still here he will be your RF. He has shown that he can hit leadoff and has a little pop. He has the same amount of HRs then Holt in way fewer ABs. I like Holt as a player because he will run through the wall for you. He will be a good insurance off the bench if one of your regulars goes down.
  18. How many teams would take JBJ if he could hit .240 to .250? There is going to be some team that thinks they can get him to hit that and give them gold glove D!
  19. Believe or not the Giants are getting more out of Peavy then the Cards are of Lackey. He is a better club house guy too.
  20. I think if Theo's 2015 Cubs do not compete for a playoff spot he will start to get some heat. He came into a situation where he could blow up a team and slowly rebuild it through the draft and key trades of assets he did have when he got there. He has some good looking every day players that are very cost effective. Wouldn't surprise me if he went hard after a couple of the top pitching FAs.
  21. We look at Pedrioa as a number three hitter and when he is not producing it effects the Sox ability to consistently score runs. If you improve the lineup then you could drop him in the order. His numbers don't look that bad if he was hitting 7th. Pedrioa's glove would allow you to do that. Despite two years with hand injuries that robbed his power he still played gold glove D-Fense. How many runs does he save with his glove?
  22. The Cubs are close to being a good team. A lot of their top prospects are now playing in Chicago and producing. These cost effective players will allow then to fill the holes with FAs. Theo has a lot of $$$$$ to spend to fill the holes if need be. He also some top prospects that have no place to play that are trading chips.
  23. Already starting to see writers writing about how the beaning Stanton took this week might have an effect on him long term. Many hitters were never the same after such an injury. Would the Marlins try to unload him this off season to get the biggest load of prospects with the belief that Stanton might not come back the same player?
  24. Bogaerts is still only 21 years old. He is hitting again, and his SS defense is improving. I think a lot people forget how young he is. I still think big things are ahead for the kid. JBJ on the other hand will probably be used as a trade chip. There will be some team that has SP that the Sox need who think they can fix JBJ hitting and have a Gold Glove CF.
