  1. Unless something major happens Ramirez or Panda will be playing 1B in 2016. No way BC puts Ramirez back in LF and keeps his job. Most of $$$$$ the Sox have for 2016 should be invested in pitching. As of now the only sure arms I see on the 2016 staff are Rodriguez, Uehara, and Tazawa.
  2. Today is another example of why 2015 is a lost season. A lot of talk, but no action for the Sox.
  3. Ben! Got nothing. He is putting a lot of value on the minor leaguers moving forward.
  4. You do that and how does that effect a young catcher and his working with a shakey staff?
  5. Remember the Punto Trade happened in August.
  6. Kimbrel is still young so taking his salary would not be wrong. Ross would be a good fit for the staff. How much are the Sox willing to give up?
  7. I don't think you can get anything of value for him now. His track record says the guy will break down at some point during the season.
  8. If 2013 didn't happen Ben would have been gone already.
  9. Yes, they should be looking at 2016. Ben needs to step up on making the staff much better.
  10. Be nice to get a piece for the 2016 rotation. This years staff has been even worse then predicted. So to answer the question, you do need a top of the rotation guy to be competitive.
  11. The numbers game is hurting JBJ. There are so many OFs that the Sox have that I don't think he will be given another real shot. The two times up this year have been short ones. With his glove you just hope he starts to hit. I don't know if that is going to ever happen.
  12. Needs to put up big numbers the rest of the season at AAA. I hope he can find himself and be of value for the Sox down the road.
  13. Bullpen!!! His stuff would be effective for one inning.
  14. 35 of final 79 games against AL East teams. 10 against $pankees. Sox would have to play amazing well to get back in it. Don't think they have the pitching to have that kind of success. The chance is there though.
  15. Its the players. There are too many of them that are producing below expectations. Who is having a good season? Maybe you can say Bogaerts. The offense (The believed strength of the team) has under produced. The starting pitching questionable to start, has dealt with the loss of both catchers (Big hit) and has been inconsistent the whole season.
  16. Because no team in the AL East looks like they can run away, I think there is a chance. Slim, but a chance. Because they play so many games with teams in their division that would also help. I can see all of your trade candidates getting move though.
  17. It would be a lot easier to make the call if the Sox weren't in such a need for starting pitching. Based on the track record over the last few years the Sox will not invest big $$$$$ on a starting pitcher, with the next two years at reasonable $$$$$ Buccholz falls into that category of the type of pitcher the Sox are looking for. Then again his track record has been so up and down. I guess the Sox should field offers and if they are blown away make the deal. If there is no deal like that then keep the team friendly contract.
  18. If Masterson craps out I think we will see Johnson get a shot.
  19. Harrigab coming back this week. What are the Sox going to do with Swihart? If 2015 is over I rather see him get the majority of games behind the plate. He is starting to hit the ball and major league experience behind the dish would be a positive moving forward. I think Vazquez's injury has cost him a shot at being the Sox everyday catcher.
  20. Pedey was having a good season. I hope this isn't something he has a problem with the rest of the season.
  21. No! Play the kids the rest of 2015. This team doesn't have the pitching to make a run.
  22. Sox pitching is so inconsistent they can not put a string of wins together to get back in it. Based on the current make up of the roster, if they make it back to .500 that would be a big accomplishment.
  23. Mookie is playing every day, and Ellsbury is hurt again. He has been out 5 weeks this time. Ellsbury has a lot of talent, but he can't stay on the field.
  24. Hopefully, the OF Benintendi from Arkansas is another piece that pays off for the Sox.
