If that were the case, I think that I would agree with you. With Holt, I do not think that is the case. By critical position in this case i think that you are talking about center and short. I don't think that he is league's below the guys playing those positions. That being said, it would take me a long time to feel any need to take Betts out the lineup. A day off now and then - yes.

Kind of makes sense I would say. Ride that little horse while he is hot. He plays his role extremely well and we are very fortunate to have him. I also think that some of the so called "everyday" players respond better with a little rest as well. Often times when he sort of fills in, he is giving us more than what we were getting. I don't see him being over shadowed from a talent perspective by many of the players ahead of him. As long as he is happy in his role, this team has a real gem. There should be plenty of game time and plenty of at bats to go around.

Watched the C's play for the first time in years last night. They play hard. Not far away from being very good. All of you Rajon Rondo fans - sorry- his act was tiresome.

hey Kimmi I agree. He sure is no 1967 Yaz but maybe he just doesn't feel the sense of urgency in April that he has felt in October.

8-3 loss. Both Brentz and JBJ a couple of hits apiece. Steven Wright - not so much.

I do not think that Steven Wright will add any value. Bill Lee or Luis Tiant would be better options.

i agree that he did pitch 5 innings. We will just disagree from there. I also agree that a good knuckleballer can be very good or whatever on occasion. Sorry, I think that using him would be a wasted start. I do not believe that he has any intrinsic value with respect to this club moving forward.

17 hits so far today for the P-Sox. Swihart 4-5- he is starting to get it going. JBJ bouncing back with a couple. Looks like a solid start for E-Rodriguez. 6 innings and a couple of earned runs- 5 K's. kind of like how Coyle has been hitting. Also Brentz is still hitting. they will get some help from this roster when they need it I think.

I didn't like the line on Owens and JBJ took the ofers- as in 0 for 5. I'm really pulling for him.

Couldn't believe the velocity Kelly had still working for him into the 6th. That heater at 96-98 sets up everything else if he can keep it in the zone. I really hope he stays healthy. I really think that he is a key player for us. he may be the key with respect to the starters.

I'm with you. I hope he gets a chance with somebody. I'm curious as to what he can do. I don't see him getting that chance in Boston.
