  1. I would not disagree with you that there are levels on status among the players.....but there is the line that I found interesting: "The perception that V. is being scapegoated unfairly to divert attention from medicore performances by some star players exists among some players.... They may be nobodies, but they apparently don't like what they see going on with the stars. And that is not a "united" team nor "unanimous" opinions.
  2. Where do you get " the team is united" and "Unanimous in their dislike of V". The story says other wise.
  3. DLowe to the Yanks
  4. Reminds me of the Veritek statement when the Sox started their success that the team had turned into a unified group that would take a bus together rather than 25 guys, 25 taxis. Looks like they are back to the latter.
  5. The guy who writes the ETC. column in the BOSTON SUNDAY GLOBE made mention of JL's popularity a couple of weeks ago and he said he was puzzled by it also......he ended with the thought that it makes you wonder about the quality of the team if his "buying" makes him so popular.
  6. I would prefer a "puppet" who comes in with a fresh eye. BC spent too much time attached to TE. He can't see which trades were good/ bad and he can't assess the clubhouse/team with an unbiased eye
  7. I can't fault Crawford for his bad contract. If Theo was stupid enought to give him that, then Carl was right to take it. I always enjoyed seeing CC play for TB and I would pray that he woulkd turn it around last year for the Sox. Everytime he was at bat, I just wanted him to get a hit. He always sruck me as a pleasant, polite young guy for whom Boston was not the right place. I wonder if he got some counseling over the winter because he seemed to be in a better place emotionally this year
  8. No surprise there...except maybe surprise that anybody as useless as he has been for the RS would dare....and I guess he dared and continues to dare. Just to see him sitting on the bench this year, laughing with JB, makes me gag. There is the scene in MONEYBALL when BB sees Giambi and a few others laughing and dancing in the locker room after some serious losses and he decides to dump them all to get the culture correct. I think of that when I see the two of them have a great time pulling in millions and doing nothing positive for the team....yet a hell of a lot negative. There have been so many unlikable things about him since he arrived, but to picture him sneaking up the stairs with his Gomer Pyle face all serious becasue he has important news is the FINAL straw for that piece of crap
  9. I don't think Pedey has helped himself this year for being the Mighty Mouth ( Here I come to save the day) in his defense of KY. Fans have expected the mouth and accepted it when he was doing really well for the team. However, his numbers are pretty low and you wonder if it was anybody else but the fan fav if he would be sitting more...You shouldn't play every day if you are not producing.
  10. Now that is a point I was waiting for someone to make. Cherry is a huge part of the problem. When the underlings have been so attached to the big boy ( to the point that you can't tell one voice from the other), maybe there needs to be a fresh eye and a new voice brought it to do the job. That job should have been filled from the outside with someone who has had experience...not Epstein's errand boy.
  11. He may not want to....why put up with this crap from the people above you and those below you. He can go back to CT and pick up on all his activities there.
  12. If you have ever worked in an environment like this in which the "boss" fosters snitches, you would know that it is so detrimental to the morale of the group. Wyo-sox is right that the problem is the front office---Cherry or LL ---who listened to the crap rather than sending the "unnamed" person flying out the door. Of course that problem was evident when JP flapped his mouth about V and his now proven very true comments about Youk.
  13. Derek Lowe designated for assignment by the Guardians......bad last few starts.
  14. You have to wonder what was going through John F's mind when he was pictured standing in his dugout, just staring out. My thought "You were always an ******* JB, but at least I could keep you under control".
  15. Supposedly out tomorrow also with his back spasms
  16. Tex reminds me of Prince William and HE comes from a long standing horse -faced family on his father's side.....
  17. Padilla is in no position to comment on anybody's looks...and at least he is smart enough to know that.
  18. Yea..you are so right...not a single game.....just the only two they played against NYY 4/20 and 4/21 2-6 and 9-15
  19. f*** off. You are not required to approve my posts, nor do you have any authority to determine who will be here or not, you POS.
  20. And I bet it was pepperoni?
  21. I don't know....is he a dick?? Gets out of the hospital after several days of IVs and no food, goes to Foxwoods the next day---an event that could not have been planned because he would not have been available under normal circumstances. Must have made a remarkable recovery because most people would not have had the strength to do that. Should I figure he is a superman to be able to do that?? Yea...what a superman.
  22. Glad Buchholtz was feeling good enough to go to an event at Foxwoods last night. Once that plane took off to Seattle, he must have recovered.
