  1. Got one this morning after a long time with no problem
  2. Is this the post that got this guy banned???? Maybe some of these people should be invited back since their hard nosed posts that offended some people turned out to be totally accurate:rolleyes:
  3. It is funny to go back to some of the early season threads and see how angry people got when there were any kind of critical remarks directed at the Sox. It is also funny to see how some of the most vehement supporters totally stopped posting when things went way south.
  4. The guy has over 28,000 posts. If he is a troll, they would have gotten rid of him by now. Whatever you think he is saying to "all of us" is just another point of view. Sometimes ( at least in previous times) it was refreshing to hear something other than all is perfect in RedSox Nation....nothing needs to change because they have the best Manager ( gone!!) and best GM ( gone!!) in baseball because they brought us two World Series titles a life time ago.
  5. Apparently there was a lot of doubt for way too long so that Duquette did NOT get his proper due. Finally FORBES magazine calls it correctly ---that Theo was the most overrated manger of the decade. And to return to the topic, Pedroia better stop being as dirt doggy as he has been. This is the third injury to an extremity. The earlier foot injury resulted in a pin having to be put in and the hand/wrist injury of earlier this year took a while to heal since he came back ( again) way too soon.
  6. Youk's time in Boston is passed. If you brought him in as a utility player for the infield at low money maybe...but even then there are better choices. Once somebody shows that he doesn't like the situation , there is no returning...that goes for Francona sand Farrell....Stop already with the retreads.
  7. Farrell?? Why not Francona since they are looking at retreads> What has F. done with Blue Jays that makes him a valued manger?
  8. I was surprised to see Tek come back so quickly what with a new wife and a new baby. I do not see Pedro coming out of retirement at all...ever
  9. Agree!! When there is a problem a business entity needs a fresh view with a non biased pair of eyes. They did not get that with BC. I am also not crazy with the idea of bringing back John Farrell.:thumbdown
  10. The stories are saying that he will be special assistant and learn the front business from the top to the bottom. Sounds like they have plans down the road for JV....and that is perfect.
  11. Maybe because they discovered that the actors were either prettier than they were or were gay or both. Not so much in professional sports
  12. So he meant " you are a bundle of sticks"?.... HMMMM interesting. Nobody gets paid to appear on the field in a uniform representing something larger and greater than himself to speak his own mind or express himself in any other way other than using his basebasll skills.
  13. I saw that Heidi and her job in LA parted ways before she even got on TV once.....kind of vague as to why, but she did apply for a job at ESPN ( so much for preferring the west coast) that went to some other woman
  14. The Fox Business guy, Charlier Gasparino, who broke the story was on Felger and Mazz just now and he said that he heard their denials but still went with the story because "This is a team that's in trouble and an organization in trouble..." He then went on and mentioned Liverpool and that nobody has the kind of money to carry two teams with serious issues.
  15. There is always talk in marketing of the "brand". The RS brand has taken quite a beating lately.
  16. I wasn't crazy about the ownership's role in the meeting in NY....they outright lied then...it was just the regular meeting we have a couple of times a year.....not true then, and now???
  17. I posted this in January...some people agreed and some didn't to varying degrees. It is really funny that the movement of their quarter of billion in player debt sort of plays into the concern for the luxury tax........ The point that they would keep the RS as long as the team made money may be an issue now with fans showing their anger at the ownership and not buying the tickets. I did read that the season ticket holders who could always count of getting their money back for tickets they personally could not use have not been able to sell those tickets as readily in the past few months. Will they have all those same loyal season ticket holders buying next year?
  18. Based on the crap I read from this board over the winter, I am surprised at how few peolple are posting through the lean times. When I joined in Dec, one was scolded for being negative about anything Sox related, was criticized for not quoting chapter and verse the sabermetric mode of judging a player and chastised for not being as good or as long term a fan as anybody who had 10,000+ posts here. It is a very hard to board to warm to. People were told they couldn't post the line up because one person does it...and what happened to that? Anybody new faced derision if his posts didn't measure up to the expectations or opinions of the "real" fans. And the banning....I have never seen a board as banning-crazy as this one. Big changes in a few months. Anxious to see what happens in the off season when the deserters crawl out of the woodwork again.
  19. If he doesn't interview well, then hopefully he will at least learn from Dale Sveum's error during his luncheon with John Henry. Supposedly, he spit his tobacco juice into a cup. Apparently, JH was tired of chewing ( he got TF to stop chewing and spitting) and didn't want another manager with that habit , especially one who did it at lunch. You really have to be a yahoo to have done that during an interview. I guess Cherrington and Theo didn't mind it as much as JH
  20. The RS need a fresh view with a new eye.. Cherrington was not a good choice since he was too close to the old action and JF will not offer anything new either. New people top to bottom. Knowing how we do things in Boston is not important
  21. Not unless he sells
  22. Especially with Beckett gone
  23. Why woud the Yanks want lame Ortiz? Do you not think this injury will be a chronic problem. The FO is probably celebrating they did not give him the multi-year deal.....and they sure as hell won't do it this winter
  24. After the story they told about the NY meeting......outright lies equal to those told by the players, I have no regard for ownership. I have no reason to believe them that this meeting was also planned and just a regular day.
  25. Interesting interview with Tom W. in the GLOBE this morning. Not sure if it was exclusively with Peter A or other media people were there. What was amzing was his positivity about BV.....Cher ( he was so articulate during the Dodgers trade interview), Ortiz...( need him back...he is the inspirational leader), core players like DP and JE and the great pitching staff and he can't wait for Lackey to come back. It went on from the center of the front sports page to a full page inside. The most interesting thing was that accompanying TS on the interview was his friend-- an Oscar winning screen writer. I smell MONEYWASTE , the movie, in the making..
