    As a side note to the physical thing, I wondered if they could have gotten insurance on Ortiz in the condition he was in. I remember when they hired back Schilling for his many millions with the injured shoulder. After he pooped out and never pitched once, we heard that the RS had to eat that whole salary because the insurance company would not take Schill on as a risk. For fear of setting off at least one person here, I will not state that the video game scam was Schill's second.

    Ortiz has been shut down for 5-7 days due to inflammation in both heels. He did have a tear in the A. tendon which has healed so this injury is thought to be separate from the A. Being ready for Opening Day is not expected. This is according to Peter Abraham on Boston.Com

    Two interesting points in the GLOBE this morning. When Cher et al did the visit with Hamilton, none of the owners were with him. This did make some think that it was a courtesy call and not a real interest.\\ DiceK is still in Boston..so perhaps he is thinking that MLB has a place for him as oppesed to a team in Japan?

    Why does the spector of a RS player going to the Yanks haunt so many people here? We heard it with Ortiz.....like they needed an old guy whose injury hasn't been tested, and now Ells. Come on, they don't need RS cast-offs. They got enough of their own old....injured....expensive players

    Based on the various stories that came out last( late )season that the tickets were just about being given away and that long time season ticket holders could not even give their tickets way, the sales look like they should be way below previous sales. I do agree that it is surprising that nothing has been done to get some interest at least started.
