    I didn't like the proclamation when Stoppach came aboardthat Salty was THE catcher. They pulled that crap last season when the only other choice was Veritek.. So they hire another guy but make it clear that he still is only secondary to the ( great) Salty. Let them fight it out for the starting job------defense and offense.

    Youk looked good last night----those 4 stikeouts lowered his average to 184. Maybe the groin is still a problem??

    I think Pedroia meant how Francona did things....not necessarily "we" since the manager dictates the methods. Maybe the guys need to see that there is a new sheriff in town. This is the first time I heard that Youk was a cancer in the clubhouse last year...I know that he spoke out about Ells earlier ( as did Pedroia)....hmmm. Seems that their behavior contradicts what JP is saying.

    If the Sox keep winning, nobody is going to care about BV big mouth..and if Youk goes off, he will find himself somewhere in the middle of America in a small market team

    Interesting about Epstein....I have read that the invites went out to everybody who has ever "worn a RS uniform". I don't know if they mean that literally or figuratively. Literally would preclude Epstein

    I don't think they sodomized him.... They printed information about him that was not a lie. I'm thinking how much they hate him in Phillie. It seemed kind of hard to believe that they would hold a grudge against him, but now it makes sense. Seems like there is a pattern here if he won't show up to greet the FANS at Fenway. Nobody is asking him to hug JH or kiss LL's ass......but he should show the fans some courtesy by showing up. If he could not that he should have kept his mouth shut and not rehashed the old news.

    Pushing what issue? It is a conversation about something that was in the paper today. Looks like TF is the one pushing it if he had to drag his pet GLOBE reporter and co book author to print his whinning. Get the f*** off the thread if it bothers you.

    He was taking pain killers by his own admission. His marriage was on the rocks. The information got out there...so what? The only question is did those things play into the collapse and the player's loss of respect for TF? If so, then take some responsibility for that. The team had already collapsed when the information got out there.....so stop whinning about the information getting out and take responsibility for the team's collapse. It isn't like anybody was accusing him WRONGLY and UNJUSTLY of illegal behavior.

    Were there laws broken.....breaks-in of TF medical and legal files??? Or did someone-for whatever reason- pass on information that they witnessed in day-to-day interactions in the locker room.

    Did Francona use pain meds....which may have had a bearing on the team's relationship with him?...We don't know. Did Francona's marriage ( etc) problems have a bearing on the team's relationship with him.? ...We don't know. Actually we do not know anything about the REASON for the collapse. However, I couldn't help but think that his defensive attitude was much like that of Beckett's Did some issues in Francona's life cause the collapse? He did say that he could not get through to players that he did have relationships with before. According to Francona, his concern is that the information about the problems got out....not that the problems occured and hurt the team.

    Shaughnessy's front page column today quotes Francona in detail about his feelings of the bitter end. Apparently he blames the FO for not getting to the bottom of who gave Bob Hohler of the GLOBE his information when his column talked about Francona's use of pain pills and the chicken and beer problems F. mentioned not getting JH on the line for several months ( the five months too late story). He wishes JP and JL the best but those are the only two players he mentions. Best quote I thought..." Until I am more comfortable with some answers on what happened at the end of the year, I don't want much to do with the organization....."

    Why? Will it make the team play better, win more games if the "pink hats" leave? Everybody has an opinion and celebrates wins / mourns losses in their own way and it is ALL OK. Way too much think and speak as I think/speak on this board or get called out for a varying opinion. It has improved with some posters going but some people still use the board to make themselves feel important and superior:rolleyes:
