    After a long break, we get an interview with Lackey.....and learn about 2011 and "life according to lackey". I am shocked that he agreed to even speak to DS.....especially since he came out very poorly in the interview......nothing is his fault, life sucks ( even though he wasn't the one with cancer) and DS was just stirring up the past by asking about chickengate. It was a great early morning read.

    Injured? Just sucking at the plate. So he would hopefully "bounce back" from his suckoid recent performances.

    The last time I checked, the $14 mil man was batting in the 170s. Hope he improves pretty soon because seeing him swing through the air reminds me too much of a couple of years ago.

    Loved Nick Green too. When he came out to pitch, I was so impressed. Don't know if there are many other managers who run out of pitchers like Tito. But there aren't too many guys who CAN step it like that when needed.

    Hazel Mae ,who admittedly was a Boston party girl, supposedly left the MLB network to return to Canada to do a sports show there. She was married in Jan 2011 to a former baseball player. Don't know if the Tito rumors were any more than that, but she was out there by her own admission. The Heidi rumors just seemed like the wet dreams of a lot of male baseball fans.

    Yea, I read it too and have always respected JT. He was at least able to get another managing job in a big market team and it seemed as though his team didn't drive him out, but rather the FO's preference for somebody else. Francona's leaving was far less graceful AND nobody took him on, not even his former GM

    Yea, you are right... it was a bad season for Francona......and he didn't have a big mouth. Nobody said that the ugliness of last year negated what had been done. The interesting point is WHY it happened after all that Francona did to take care of the team. Most successful managers are able to go out on the top----Francona got dropped to the pits by the team he cared for and did so much for.

    No.... a terrible fade in Sept, bad vibes in the clubhouse, firing of said manager, departure of coaches and general manager, loss of respect for the team members....but thanks for playing.

    we saw what happened to a 25 man team that didn't care that they had a manager who protected them from the media for several seasons

    I think they signed CC because they were embarrassed at how he stole at will against the RS. Better to have him on our side than against us......big mistake when you buy for the wrong reasons.

    You know more about this than I do so I was interested to read what you wrote. I would love to see where the various Hall of Fame players ranked in their respective drafts. They had their long and successful careers so that would be a given-----not just a couple of years of success

    success in the majors and the round a player was chosen in the draft pick? That would be an interesting topic that I would love to spend some time on someday when I have the time. I thought of it when I saw that Darnell McD was a 1st rounder.....and his success has been pretty limited. Somebody like Youk was taken pretty high, spent a long time in the minors and finally got his success. I wonder if there IS any relationship...or some people peak early and fade

    The blog noted above did refer to the early "man crush" DS had on AG....so it remains a mystery what caused that nasty ,albeit brief ,mention of AG.

    No it is not. You put your age out there repeatedly it is open for discussion. How many others need to tell us how old they are? I am supposed to care that this would "antagonize her"....maybe if she is lying it would. But thanks for your input.
