We're not talking the local factory or body shop where the boss may drink with you. This is a professional organization, dependant on the good will of their fans. You don't drink at work in a normal professional environment...so BV dropped the another bomb that he was given by the front office.

Surprised that there were not more. As a new person coming in and just reading posts and getting a sense of various people( and that isn't hard to do since really very few people post here on a regular basis), I thought there were several others who posted in an ugly way.

I do not understand why too many people here are either totally black or totally white in their RS opinion. Last year, they were golden and nothing could stop them......well something did. Why can't it be that they are a promising team with WEAKNESSES and STRENGTHS?? That is the only logical way to look at them so the continuous attacks on each other are just ridiculous

Funny story in the GLOBE this morning...Ortiz confronts Shaunassey about something he DIDN'T say. There was a big picture of DO on the front of syesterday so when I saw another one today, I was really shaking my head that the FO is determined to make the fans believe that he is worth the ridiculous money they gave him. Instead it was aboiut the workds DO had with him and he was wrong. It did make it clear how "sensitive" David is about negative comments so the only thing I did recall was the fear the FO had of getting DO upset if they had to speak against him at the arbitration hearing. AH..if we didn't laugh, we would probably be crying

That is part of the reason NESN changed their message board---people had multiple accounts so that they could agree with themselves thereby giving the impression that they held the popular view and their "enemies" not.

I just saw a picture of Lackey "taking it slow" at ST......Has he met the media yet...or have they kept him far, far away? If Beckett seemed to maintain his arrogance, I imagine Lackey would be the same, plus he has the divorce to cop an attitude about.

However, he really pissed me off today talking about--- on the first day ----that there were people he is angry at because they were responsible for chicken and beer story getting out. That had no business being said. So he is still an arrogant ass.

Interesting. After sounding like a blow-hard with his buddy Millar, JB finally does take SOME responsibility for the miserable end. I wondered how that first ST media session would go back when this all broke last fall.

I spoke about that a while ago. No SS, who is in RF and what are they doing with LF while CC is out.....that whole left side looks like it could be a defensive black hole. Just hoping that Youk comes back is great shape and can last the season. He got hit pretty hard last year

That would be only graceful end for everybody concerned. They thank the RS for the ( questionable---my word) offer of ST, but do not show up as they are both retiring. If either show up in FL, the ending will be unpleasant...something no fan would really want to see after what both men have given to the team

You invite s*** piles to ST and it DOES mean nothing. If you invite 2 over the hill guys who have been a huge part of a club for years and it does mean something....... and that something should not have been done. How do you compare a nobody with no relationship to a team with a somebody who will always be associated with the team? The two invites are apples and oranges. In the first case, the guy is sent home and it means nothing; in the second case, what do you do with the guy once he is there. Tell him that he can play in Boston?..... in Pawtucket? How do you make the break in ST that should have been made last fall.

Are you posting just to be contentious? How did I say anything different than what you just said. He had one option year left, that is what they gave him. We all know that he talked ( as I said after the HRD in particular) about an extension which did not come about. He didn't play overly well so used winning the HRD as some kind of reason to get an extension. This year was the real contact year and he got the one year.....so what circumstances am I CREATING? He has had some slow starts and some slow years.....so I asked hypothetically if he would still have the skills at his age to get another contract..... but certainly not any kind of multi-year from the RS since they seem definite that wasn't going to happen, certainly not now or probably never.
