  1. Some GM's totally screw up in that position. It's never guaranteed that your moves will be the right ones.
  2. Man are you cynical.
  3. Did you really think Bloom could perform a miracle and make the 2020 Red Sox into a good team after trading Mookie, after Sale's surgery, after losing E-Rod to the pandemic, with no payroll room and hardly any prospects? Seriously, the expectations have to be a little tempered some times...
  4. Or as some people call it, 60 games in a pandemic LOL
  5. Not really LOL
  6. Babe Ruth was sent to the Yankees for cash, not even getting any talent back, in the days when the Red Sox could have kept him as long as they wanted. Any parallels drawn with Mookie's situation are mind-bogglingly absurd.
  7. These writers are so far over the top, it's incredible.
  8. -Theo's Cubs were horrible his first few seasons there. -DD's Tigers were horrible his first few seasons there. Obviously wasn't their fault. They took over rosters in bad shape and turned them around. Same with Bloom's 2020 Red Sox.
  9. I trust in Bloom to do the right things, including with the E-Rod quandary.
  10. Age is a huge factor here. The Yankees nearly killed me in the Seventies LOL
  11. Personally I think John Henry has kind of a magic touch with this stuff, in spite of the roller coaster we've been on. Theo, Ben and DD all won rings. And acquiring Bloom seems like a perfectly timed move that will result in more success.
  12. A high percentage of the fans on the Yankee forum I follow think Cashman and Boone should both be gone. They point out that the Yankees have only been in one World Series in the last 17 seasons, while outspending everyone. And they think Hal doesn't care about the rings, only the money.
  13. So far each one of these games has basically been over in the 5th inning.
  14. Wow, what a joke this is.
  15. You have to at least give him credit for hiring Cora, since you're a Cora fan.
  16. Not always. Did DD interview anyone besides Cora?
  17. Yes, I know all that, Mr. Smarty-Pants. Here's a question I might check into: What % of the time do teams that lose the first 3 games of a series win Game 4?
  18. The greatest teams ever assembled tend not to last very long. Cheer up, Denny, there will be good times again.
  19. Good question. I'll leave that in Bloom's lap.
  20. It's not just the press. There's also: -The idiot segment of fans at the park. -Bloggers, and fans on social media.
  21. If you can sign Pillar again for $4.5 million or so, you gotta do it.
  22. It's easy to see why some players would prefer to play for the Dodgers over the Red Sox. Great weather, more relaxed environment etc.
  23. For once?
  24. I'm just saying that even if Mookie did turn down $350 million from Boston, it doesn't prove anything.
  25. Here's a hypothetical just for fun. Maybe the Red Sox offered Mookie $350 million as a final offer. That's pretty close to what he got from the Dodgers. Mookie supposedly asked for $420 million, so $350 million was still too far short. He thought he could get more in free agency. When the Dodgers made their offer it was in the midst of a pandemic, so he decided the smart thing would be to take it. None of that says he had no intention of ever playing in Boston again.
