  1. Why exactly is Chavis way over rated?
  2. We talk about these guys almost like they're sub-humans or something LOL
  3. No, harmony likes to respond with the Jamie Moyer trade.
  4. Well, in a perfect world you might keep a couple of them as back-end-of-pen fodder.
  5. Sweet.
  6. Yes, I'm just saying that a free agent contract with a player opt-out is even worse than one without an opt-out.
  7. He opted out of his contract with the Dodgers before signing with the Red Sox. But he lived up to his contract with us for the most part.
  8. But then it'll be even harder to manage your payroll. There's no perfect solution.
  9. The Yanks had a chance to let Sabathia go after 3 good years, but they blew it and re-upped him. But it's hard to let a guy go who's been your ace. If an opt-out works in favor of the team, it's strictly by luck.
  10. In theory, the opt-out could work in the team's favor. In reality, has it ever done so?
  11. I doubt he was the only pitcher in the HOF who doctored the baseball, though.
  12. True. And Xander's deal was a very reasonable one. It would have a great one if not for the darn opt-out. Hate those things.
  13. It's the way the arb system is now. JBJ got a raise for 2020 even though his 2019 season was worse than his 2018 season. You only get good young players cheap for 4 seasons at the most now. The fact that E-Rod didn't play shouldn't have any bearing, though. Not his fault he got the plague.
  14. For some strange reason this discussion is giving me a craving for breaded chicken strips.
  15. I'll assume that he it was deliberate and offer my own speculations: 1) The temptation is too difficult to resist; and 2) He may have been under the belief that it was something not detectable, or it was masked or whatever.
  16. Even more recent-Bryce Harper. Baseball Trade Values has his contract underwater by 92.9 million.
  17. He was on target for a 60-70 fWAR career before the injury, which would have given him a good shot.
  18. The injury ruined his chances. Thanks Manny.
  19. It was rumored that the reason the Yanks were willing to let him go was because of PED concerns. His whole career might be phony.
  20. I think I would.
  21. Yes, he's always known how to Enhance his Performance.
  22. Nice trade by the loser Mets.
  23. Having Fun with the Fungibles.
  24. Devers's streakiness is a better brand of streakiness.
