  1. The reason that political threads/comments were declared off limits here was because former moderator Yazsir declared them so, under penalty of banning, after the last political thread got ugly. I'm not sure how Brock feels about it. I guess we'll soon find out.
  2. The 2007 team had 3 very good outfielders in Crisp, Ellsbury and Drew, but they only all played together in late inning alignments.
  3. It doesn't matter for a lot of players, but it matters a lot for some.
  4. It's always nice to see pure class!
  5. The stats may be irrelevant but the underlying performance isn't, necessarily. They liked what they saw of his fielding and saw improvement in his plate approach.
  6. Yes and probably very soon. They're just taking advantage of the fact they can stash him.
  7. Good for him. His offensive numbers weren't anything special, but the guys who run the team aren't just scouting the box scores like me.
  8. I find this a very difficult season to prognosticate. If I was forced to make a prediction I would go 86-76.
  9. The Sox offense has been very quiet the last few games.
  10. Checked into this and there's actually a large difference with Crochet. 2025 was Bibee's last pre-arbitration year. His arb years were 2026, 2027 and 2028. So the Guardians had 4 years of control left, not 2.
  11. I don't know what he "should" get, but I'm sure he's thinking a lot bigger than that. Per Chris Cotillo: "There is believed to be a large gap between the sides at present." Looks like the real question is what he'll be looking for if he has a 6 WAR, fully healthy 2025.
  12. Yeah, Hendricks is still pitching himself back into game shape. Here's hoping he makes it. We know he has a great attitude. I think he'll contribute and will get some save opportunities sooner than later.
  13. Nate's postseason numbers are positively delightful for old schoolers and new schoolers alike.. 9-3 W-L 3.05 ERA 2.84 FIP 1.04 WHIP 4.56 K/BB
  14. I concede your point. Over to Larry now.
  15. The next thing we need to know is the actual difference in elapsed time between strong-armed shortstop throws and weak-armed throws (obviously not including the lollipop throws when the thrower is extremely off balance) and how those translate to out vs. safe calls!
  16. I guess Larry is suggesting other teams might have interest with openings at the MLB level.
  17. Eovaldi will always have a very good place in Red Sox history. Everyone remembers Game 3 of the 2018 WS, But that was just the kind of player he is - he gives you everything he's got. Pretty amazing career in spite of being derailed numerous times by health issues.
  18. Bob Nutting is a perfect name for a bad sportswriter.
  19. Yeah, this is a tad concerning for a man with a surgically repaired elbow. There's always something new to worry about.
  20. There's certainly nothing wrong with his velocity.
  21. Put it this way, I don't think any Sox fan would be averse to signing Robertson. Crazy that Robertson isn't signed yet, assuming he still wants to play. Maybe he only wants to play if it's the right amount. There haven't even been any rumors about him that I've noticed.
  22. It's amazing how entertaining small sample baseball numbers can be. No matter how meaningless, any numbers are better than no numbers.
  23. That's what I thought, too. 14 hits, 2 HR and 7 walks in the tiny sample of 9.1 IP is a little rough though.
  24. I think the guy just has serious holes in his game. The lack of power has been glaring, and that may even be an understatement.
