  1. Chaim may have gone one step too far with the revamping and rebuilding when he unloaded Beni. We didn't really shed much payroll in the deal. We did get back prospects. But right now it's a move that left us with a very shaggy outfield. Duran is 0 for 7 in the first 2 Worcester games.
  2. Do something tonight, Franchy. We're all behind you. Unless you don't do anything again.
  3. Just to add one more detail, it was scored a wild pitch. It was a wicked breaking ball that hit the ground before reaching the catcher. Very tough play, probably the correct call rather than a passed ball.
  4. It would have been a perfect game, but a Seattle guy reached when strike three was a wild pitch.
  5. The screws term originated from golf though, referring to the screws in the face of wooden clubs.
  6. Because exit velocity combined with launch angle, on average, results in more hits than exit velocity without launch angle. Presumably the latter includes a lot of ground ball outs.
  7. I'm confident that the team will look after him properly.
  8. A barrel is not necessarily a dinger. Wouldn't even need the term if it was, right?
  9. Personally I'd like to see him this year.
  10. Sale threw off a mound, lightly, for the first time since surgery.
  11. Kimbrel isn't a poser. He just has a weird-looking setup. Big difference.
  12. You said it. A lot of wins in this game look messy for one reason or another, but they're wins.
  13. Yankees could have a Nerf Garbage Can giveaway day.
  14. Yes, the Ellsbury contract was not much better than our Pablo/Hanley/Rusney deals. Although the Yankees recouped some money through insurance.
  15. It's not a very rigorous analogy you have going here.
  16. The bad news is that Fulmer is a decent pitcher. The good news is, he's only thrown 85 pitches total in his last 2 starts, so we might only see him for a few innings.
  17. I will say this, it would be nice if the Sox beat writers occasionally asked some of the obvious questions, like what's up with Valdez etc.
  18. It's not a smart move in any way, shape or form IMO
  19. The odds are as good that Swihart's Ghost himself takes over in left field.
  20. W.C. Fields: "I spent half my money on gambling, alcohol and wild women. The other half I wasted."
  21. And that's a good accountant's take. Hell yeah, if the 2003 Civic runs, I'll drive it and spend the other $499,900 on wine, women and song LOL
  22. Not bragging about it, but I hardly ever question the manager. I don't think I've questioned Cora once.
  23. Nothing like extreme comparisons LOL Verdugo is the proper comparison to Mookie. And he's certainly not a 2003 Civic.
