No idea. I do think that sometimes good pitching can put hitters in a slump for games after that, because the hitters get messed up in the head, much the way a few bad shots in golf can mess you up for a while.
Maybe he's really liking the seams on this year's baseballs.

He's officially the starter who is pitching the best right now. I would leave it at that. His career stats suggest it's going to be very hard for him to maintain this.
That's fine, but you were really laying it on thick with the stuff comparing Perez to E-Rod.
Perez is pitching great right now, but he also came into today with a 4.65 career ERA. E-Rod has been a better pitcher over his career. You're relying on small samples to make your point.
The funny thing is, the Yankees could go on a hot streak and suddenly look like contenders again. They beat the Rays last night, they're leading tonight, they have Cole going tomorrow, I think.
It's such a long and up and down season.
