  1. Seems pretty obvious they don't think it matters that much to the fans.
  2. When rules aren't enforced, the message is clear. The boys at the top don't care much about the rule.
  3. Sure. And maybe he's toast.
  4. What have you done with Kike? Arroyo has been having a lot of trouble staying healthy.
  5. His numbers are what look old. He's been useless for 2 months.
  6. Why did you like it? It may have been entertaining, but I fail to see how it achieved anything except possibly making himself look like a nutjob.
  7. I was a little surprised we didn't sign Moreland again. But Bloom decided to go with Dalbec, and Bloom is The Man.
  8. I'm afraid he might be Mitchie Too-Old at this stage.
  9. I'm sure there are many grievous omissions in that thread. That's one though.
  10. I agree. The in-game pitching changes are pretty important for various reasons. Cora has excellent judgment and feel for the game and his players.
  11. Ah yes, the inevitable Panik move.
  12. Moreland OPS by month: April .752 May .635 June .525 Can't get enthused.
  13. He's up to .727 hitting leadoff. That's only 50 points below Verdugo right now. We're not really talking dramatic differences any more.
  14. Moreland isn't hitting any better than Dalbec. The two of them would make a nice platton, perhaps, but I'm not sure the A's are in sell mode, either...
  15. But again, he's making minimum wage, so he sure helps on the budget. Some of those first basemen hitting better than him are also making serious coin.
  16. I would agree the left-right thing is a little overblown. Their offense stinks because: -One-dimensional approach. -Not hitting with RISP. -Guys like Torres and Frazier have been mammoth disappointments (which many Yankee fans blame on management for screwing around with them). -Zero help from outside the org or the farm. Cash brings in guys like Bruce and Odor and they're awful.
  17. So he might be worth $7 mill after all?
  18. An unenforced rule is the same as no rule.
  19. Well, Cora doesn't move Bogaerts or Devers. We've had plenty of different guys play first and second.
  20. Dalbec's OPS by month: April .619 May .672 June .759
  21. And that's indicative of bad management.
  22. The other thing about a guy like Dalbec is the economics. He's a minimum wage player from now until 2023.
  23. Dalbec had decent defensive numbers at third base. He's a bit of a project, but there are still enough positive signs to make it worth investing in him, IMHO.
  24. As in, "Matt Andriese as tonight's designated sacrificial lamb" disaster.
  25. Yeah, it still has some sort of symbolic value for them, I guess. A number that goes "on the back of the baseball card".
