  1. I think scouts and front offices are more likely to see a guy who's 8th in the league in total bases in spite of his endless flailing LOL
  2. Right now it looks very doubtful that JD would want to opt out, especially with the CBA uncertainty. As for Schwarber, the words 'mutual option' make my head hurt. I just hope he's on the 2022 team.
  3. I always liked Schwarber. Now I love him. Nice get, Bloom.
  4. Yes, especially Whitlock and Houck LOL
  5. The Red Sox winning rally was started by Travis Shaw vs. Bryan Shaw, and ended by Alex Verdugo vs. Alex Young.
  6. I'm just glad I didn't mention before this game that Ottavino hadn't given up a home run all season...
  7. 54 K's and 15 hits.
  8. Could be a committee.
  9. About time Houck notched a win. He deserves one.
  10. They're not trading him.
  11. Is there? I would think in most cases that's a simple matter of physics.
  12. Hunter Renfroe has been tremendous. Fine acquisition by Bloom.
  13. Gallo is having an incredibly disastrous start to his Yankee career.
  14. It has to do with the real production value of free agents in general. It's not trash, you just have to know what you're looking at. "Market value" isn't exactly the most predictable or rational value.
  15. FanGraphs has JD's 2021 season production to date worth $19 million (2.4 WAR). I hope we have both him and Schwarber in the lineup next year.
  16. Something tells me he's not as bad as he's being made out to be by some. Or at least he's capable of improvement. He's sure got the speed for CF.
  17. C'mon man, us savvy metric-wise fans all know that the elite hitters only fail 6 out of 10 times, if they have a .400 OBP or close to it.
  18. We're talking about psychological stuff, so it's all anecdotal evidence.
  19. Is it possible for us to have a starting lineup made up entirely of players whose name ends in Z?
  20. Well, if we get to the real playoffs, Cora would have to figure a way to have Kike out there at the end of the game for sure.
  21. Long hair is what sets us apart from the Yankees. Speaking of which, if you click on Joey Gallo's B-R page, it shows him with beard and mustache in a Yankees cap. It's comical.
  22. Establishes your age.
  23. Ottavino is turning around the narrative of Yankee fans that he fades late in the season and doesn't like the big moments.
