  1. A Red Sox season that was once so promising is going to hell in stages. COVID is applying the coup de grace.
  2. Definitely a relief to my spiteful soul to see them melt down in these last starts.
  3. The DickSantis line kinda does. Don't worry, I'm not here to stir up those old flames.
  4. And thank you, Ohtani for choosing the Angels over the Yankees. Ohtani playing half his games in the Stadium is the stuff of nightmares.
  5. How's that Gallo trade lookin'? The guy is a human wind turbine. 51 K's and 15 hits in 129 PA's as a Yankee. Remarkable numbers. He does bat left, though.
  6. Are we all allowed one freebie political post now?
  7. All such questions becoming sadly academic.
  8. Theo Epstein later said it was the most nervous he was that whole postseason. Foulke was absolutely on fumes, and the short porch was beckoning. Frankly I couldn't even watch that inning live, just kept nervously checking.
  9. Brad Hand DFA'd by Jays.
  10. I'm a little disappointed. Last at-bat of this game. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYA/NYA200410190.shtml
  11. As I said in the game thread, it feels like the team is in semi-punt mode.
  12. Do you know the at-bat I'm thinking of?
  13. Looks like they have him on a protection plan for sure. Can't say I disagree with it. It does suggest the team is in semi-punt mode now though.
  14. When I think of Tony Clark, I think of one particular at-bat.
  15. The Rays are: 36-12 in their last 48 (.750) 64-29 in their last 93 (.688)
  16. Or Bloom is determined to get something out of Robles and Davis? I don't think he would do something like that, but who knows.
  17. The Rays, in typical fashion, seem to be having no COVID issues.
  18. That 2002 team had a run differential of +194. A prelude to greatness, I guess.
  19. What's filling me with doom is the combination of the COVID outbreak and the 6 more games with the Rays in the next 9 days.
  20. We have a ring as a WC, under a different system.
  21. 2020 was just a total mess. Can't judge much by it. Nice getting the #4 pick though.
  22. In that particular game, the second and third hitters due up were lefty hitters. One thing Perez has is consistently good numbers against lefties. It was a perfectly logical move.
  23. 2020 was a tank job. Didn't help not having a real manager, either.
  24. It's crazy, really. Not only did they ditch Snell and Morton, they traded Hill and lost Glasnow and Archer to injury. As the saying goes, it's like they're playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers.
