  1. Well, you're saying we're toast because we can't beat the other teams in the AL East in the regular season.
  2. It depends on more than just the games back. There are also things like the health status of Wacha and Hill.
  3. The attempted point was about head to head records.
  4. Here's a fun example on what's being talked about. In the 2007 regular season the Yankees swept Cleveland 6-0, outscoring them 49-17. In the 2007 ALDS Cleveland beat the Yankees 3-1.
  5. That's certainly part of the risk with long-term guaranteed contracts.
  6. In recent years sports have partnered up with gambling big time.
  7. Unvaxed players can travel all over the US but not into Canada. Does Canada have different knowledge and science?
  8. I think we've already beaten this topic to death and nothing anyone says is going to make anyone else change their minds.
  9. Well, I understand the frustration.
  10. Houck seemed to take the brunt of it, probably because Duran had just been called up recently. Anyway, what Kimmi was talking about was "deserved", not "expected".
  11. Last year's team didn't look that great going into the playoffs.
  12. All of us have our own feelings about it.
  13. But not completely at the expense of competing in the current season. That's the balance Bloom is trying to strike.
  14. The Yankees could swing it and consider him the replacement for Judge.
  15. Realistically, if the Red Sox do become sellers, it's the expiring contracts they'll be trading, not a guy who has 2 more arb years left.
  16. Sawamura has a 2.55 ERA. I must have missed a big change in Old School thinking or something.
  17. ? Houck and Whitlock were in the pen at the start of the season.
  18. Our pen was shaky even before starters began getting injured. As of now we have 3 relievers we all like-Houck, Whitlock and Schreiber.
  19. Dreck is worthless, so you have to get darn creative. It's kind of like the rock soup story.
  20. Definitely a significant one of the multiplicity of reasons for the recent skid.
  21. Who would want to eat the 2023 contract of the Dreckster?
  22. They're losing for a multiplicity of reasons. Having Eovaldi, Whitlock, Wacha and Hill all back would certainly help. Losing Sale again hurts. I don't see any reason for big optimism for the 2022 team.
  23. Might as well stick with the puncher's chance, huh? That was basically all we had last year and it nearly worked.
  24. Something tells me it's the number after the dollar sign that matters most to Soto. And he turned down $440. So I'd say no and no.
