  1. Benny the Barista!
  2. Now that was something that got dumped in DD's lap.
  3. Not writing about that leaves me more time to waste on other stuff here.
  4. So me and you are the Maritimers on the board. There are two other Canadian posters I know of, TylerD and Northern Star.
  5. That wasn't me. I know a lot of this year's DH's are because of the late start.
  6. You're a Canuck? Where do you live?
  7. The Yankees need no sympathy, but I must say it's almost comically bad scheduling luck to come out of the All-Star Break with a doubleheader in Houston.
  8. Starting German against the Astros was odd, and so was sitting Stanton, DJ and Rizzo each for one game. Almost as if they weren't treating these as big games.
  9. Personally, I don't dabble in wishes about re-writing the past. It's such a waste of time.
  10. Interestingly enough, this is already covered in the thread about Pablo that's been active today.
  11. You're mis-reading what the statement is saying. Out of all the last place teams in the history of MLB, which one had the highest payroll? Not the highest payroll in baseball that year, but the highest of all these last place teams.
  12. Unfortunately I think his statement is correct. It's "which last place team had the highest payroll"? Probably the 2015 Sox hold that distinction.
  13. Schwarber is hitting .208 BTW.
  14. Piece of cake. You just have to give him a deal for 4 years for $79 million...
  15. We also got Winckowski for Beni. Bloom is not all bad.
  16. Our vaccinations are only worth about 75% of US vaccinations.
  17. He's probably been flailing at that pitch his whole career.
  18. But Bogey's OPS with RISP is .831, and with men on it's .861, so sometimes even the RBI numbers don't tell the whole story.
  19. Well, I must admit I was speaking rather selfishly. But of course I always hope for the best for the team and for all of Red Sox Nation.
  20. The way I look at it, 2022 has been mostly a year of suffering. I'd prefer that the suffering isn't totally meaningless.
  21. What did the O's get for Machado? Actually, I see they got quite a little grab bag...
  22. Frankly, I thought we'd get smoked by the Rays in the 2021 postseason.
  23. Sounds about right, Larry.
