  1. When STORK starts making sense to you, it's not a good sign. The guy just spews stuff. Some is true and some is nonsense. One thing he has lambasted Bloom for is not trading for Berrios. He fails to mention that Berrios has SUCKED this year with a 5.20 ERA. He's one of those people who never lets the facts get in the way of a good story.
  2. I don't disagree. The only point is that Refsnyder can't hit righties and Cora's usage of him has been fine.
  3. It's tiresome to have to keep repeating that the Red Sox payroll for tax purposes is 242 million this year. What does it really matter what his other interests are? All he has to do for the Red Sox is set the budget and let his baseball people do the rest. I think the real bottom line, though, is this: let's revisit the spending thing next April. With so much money coming off the books and talent off the roster, they really do have to spend.
  4. Correct SPLINT, Jackass is a stalker. I may need to enter a program for people trying to abstain from responding to trolls.
  5. Pretty good answer!
  6. Duran is .727 against righties, so he's snails and buttah.
  7. I think Ref should get every available AB against lefty pitchers. His OPS against righties is .703 this year and falling. It's .602 for his career. Giving him a steady diet of righties is a good way to eliminate his usefulness altogether.
  8. Jeez man, if you consider this horrific, what does that make Pablo/Hanley/Rusney et al?
  9. It doesn't affect the 2023 tax bill. It was guaranteed money.
  10. Not much I can say to that.
  11. He has a career BA of .284. Old schoolers used to think that was pretty good.
  12. The JBJ trade looks lousy this year, but it's not really what you'd call long term damage...
  13. Now that's worth getting excited about!
  14. He has a 0.5 fWAR on the year. I'm not saying he's been good, but he's still been more productive than most of our hitters.
  15. No, but I thought you were somewhat opposed to placing too much reliance on small samples. Ref's sample is small and almost certain to regress. I'm also not sure why you've given up on Verdugo. He's been one of our better hitters the last two months.
  16. Sorry you didn't like the response. But I'm going to say what I think, just like you.
  17. JH is a businessman, not an idiot. He's not going to reach into his own pocket for a couple hundred million to subsidize the team.
  18. Perfectly stated.
  19. The saddest words of tongue and pen: "What might have been."
  20. He's Bring 'Em Back Bloom!
  21. Don't worry, fun times are coming.
  22. I have zero doubt that Whitlock will be in the 2023 Opening Day rotation.
