    That's all true. Personally, I tend to think of Bloom as just another of Henry's agents. What people overlook is that Henry is actually the man who has set the strategic course for this team for the last 20 years. He brought DD in when it was time to capitalize. He brought Bloom in when it was time to get the financial house and farm back in order.

    The only way that's going to happen is if Henry sells the team. Henry is the guy responsible for all the many changes we've seen, from Theo to Ben to DD to Bloom.

    Right on both counts. I think the main reason they traded Vaz was that Bloom liked the prospects we got back enough.

    Yes, but releasing Bradley doesn't count much against him. It's trading for him that does.

    It might be the wrong move, but it doesn't really matter any more.

    I liked it okay too, but where I differ from you is that I'm now conceding it was a fail. JBJ has been well below replacement level for two years.

    We just saw Hosmer use his partial no-trade to be diverted from Washington to Boston.

    But I think part of Bloom's mandate was making the playoffs this year. Plus Sam Kennedy had already come close to saying there was not going to be a fire sale, and they told Bogey he wasn't going to be traded.

    Bloom did have a certain amount of money to spend this year and he invested most of it in Story, Bradley, Wacha, Hill, Diekman.

    Sometimes everybody is partially right. You're right that Bloom walked into a less than ideal situation. But Bloom has had a fairly lousy 2022 that can't simply be blamed on DD.

    It's possible that's what Bloom wanted to do but the owners vetoed it, for PR reasons.

    Pretty sweet seeing the Yanks lose to the guy they traded, Montgomery, last night, and then today Montas, the guy that's replacing Montgomery, gives up 6 in 3 innings.
