    Interesting that you mention that. I looked it up and the Jays closer, Hoffman, since that 2 inning outing against us, has given up 16 earned runs in 14.1 innings.

    That's a big question with this team - how much is the players and how much is the coaches.

    Rafaela's OPS is under .700. His bWAR is 2.3 and his fWAR is 1.7. Are you a WAR denier?

    This isn't little league. Suspending a Manny or a Devers might cost the team a few wins. Moral victories are pretty hollow at this level.

    Breslow's scoreboard only counts for 2024 forward.

    I'm aghast at how bad our pitching is, but I'm looking more at Breslow and Bailey than at Cora. Breslow and Bailey were supposed to really improve the pitching, and it just isn't happening.

    Let's use a real world example. Raffy Devers. Did his high error rate have more to do with a) his own play or b) these other factors you're referring to?

    There's just no point even talking about Devers playing 1B any more. Toro and Romy are doing well. Casas will be back next year. Continuing to talk about this is like beating your head against a wall for no reason.

    You're leaving out that he gave up 4 hits and 5 walks in those 4.2 IP, the Sox were leading 2-0, there were 2 men on and Garcia coming up. Cora brought Slaten in and Slaten got Garcia. Not seeing much to blame Cora for.

    Why do you say that? Bello went 6 or more 11 times last year and 3 times this year. Cora is not completely averse to leaving him in there.

    There are no more Billys or Earls. Aaron Boone is also pretty protective of his players, from what I've observed.
