Never know what to expect in this crazy game, Larry. Yoshida has reached base 6 times in 15 PA's. Casas has reached 3 out of 9. Early days.

The Sox have given up 83 runs in their last 12 games including spring games. The fewest given up in any of those games is 4. That needs to turn around in a hurry.

The curious case of Reese McGuire's CERA with the Sox continues. I have it at 6.58 now - 179 earned runs in 245 innings. Yes, I know it's likely a statistical anomaly. But it's a disturbing one.

So you would have hooked him when? After the double, when he'd given up 1 run? King and Holmes, two of the Yankees' best, ended up allowing 4 of the 7 runs.

I think there's only so much you can do with baseball analytics, and not much of it has made the game more enjoyable. Fortunately, baseball is such an innately magical game that it remains fascinating no matter how much they screw with it.

Dice-K's deal was a larger layout of cash. There was also the extension for Beckett. Those are not massive deals by today's standards, but they do kind of dwarf Kluber's deal... -

I'm still hoping to get Song back, but I think framing this as DD potentially ruining a young man's career is pretty silly. He took a shot, with little to lose. He did what HOBO's are supposed to do, try to make their team better. I don't think Song is being treated unethically. The rules are what they are. DD operated within them.

Not to be an "I told you so" guy, but this is exactly what I thought would happen. Eventually all the teams have the same analytic information, so no one has an advantage, but the game itself isn't as enjoyable.
