  1. I'd say it's arbitrary as heck.
  2. Yeah, true enough.
  3. It is. All I can say is, after losing the first one and being down 7-1 in the second, winning 2 of 3 is a happy result.
  4. And Yoshida officially has a nickname: Mass Attacka
  5. Stanton hits one 485 feet. Trout and Ohtani hit back to back jacks that total 881 feet. Hmmm, I wonder which baseball they're using this year.
  6. Never know what to expect in this crazy game, Larry. Yoshida has reached base 6 times in 15 PA's. Casas has reached 3 out of 9. Early days.
  7. Are we supposed to be happy with seasons like 2022 in the meantime?
  8. Plenty to watch on the out of town scoreboard this year, that's for sure.
  9. The Sox have given up 83 runs in their last 12 games including spring games. The fewest given up in any of those games is 4. That needs to turn around in a hurry.
  10. I totally understand that position. Still, these numbers are freaky.
  11. Giants' starting pitchers in their first two games: Cobb and Webb. (Not in that order.)
  12. You're the leader by a landslide.
  13. The curious case of Reese McGuire's CERA with the Sox continues. I have it at 6.58 now - 179 earned runs in 245 innings. Yes, I know it's likely a statistical anomaly. But it's a disturbing one.
  14. You may be right, Hugh. But the kid could have strained his back whether he was with the Phillies or still with us. It's an unsurprising development. The more we see of this the more obvious it is that the rule needs to be fixed.
  15. I thought you two said you were going to cut out this crap. Somebody needs to put somebody on ignore, rather than subjecting the rest of the forum to this again and again.
  16. So you would have hooked him when? After the double, when he'd given up 1 run? King and Holmes, two of the Yankees' best, ended up allowing 4 of the 7 runs.
  17. I see the Moon and Old Red Show is back on. Beautiful.
  18. It's his lower back, Doc.
  19. I think there's only so much you can do with baseball analytics, and not much of it has made the game more enjoyable. Fortunately, baseball is such an innately magical game that it remains fascinating no matter how much they screw with it.
  20. As a fellow public accountant, I hear ya.
  21. Speculate away. Anything goes here.
  22. Dice-K's deal was a larger layout of cash. There was also the extension for Beckett. Those are not massive deals by today's standards, but they do kind of dwarf Kluber's deal...
  23. Jeez, why'd you have to throw that in? Hospital why?
  24. But that's like saying computers are nothing new. It's true, but it kind of leaves out the massive increases in power.
