  1. Jeez man, you really don't think the Giants are swallowing a lot there? I sure do. But we all see this stuff differently.
  2. I knew he must be someone's "binky". 🙂
  3. He's a DH who is owed $250 million and has health and attitude issues.
  4. Who else?😀 One Froggy Evening, arguably the greatest cartoon of all time.
  5. Maybe his luck will improve again. Maybe Breslow and Cora didn't find the Danny Jansen pickup last year all that beneficial.
  6. Grissom is the Singing Frog. He's the Bobby Dalbec of contact hitters.
  7. IMHO the original sin was Betts. My man Zack Scott revealed that the Sox front office had serious discussions about offering Devers an extension way back in 2018 or thereabouts, and the reason they didn't was purely their concerns about the tax hit for the upcoming season.
  8. And if you take away Skenes from Pirates fans, you're taking away Livvy too. 😉
  9. Plus a few hits might start falling in for Wong. Guys have been known to break out of slumps. Most of us were ready to launch Story into Jupiter not that long ago.
  10. Can't have everything. You're not going to move the $250 million contract of a DH and get big talent back too. Just not happening.
  11. We don't have to do anything, we all have free will. Personally I'm very comfortable assuming that Breslow and Cora know more than I do about the catching situation.
  12. Yeah, like I said I'm going to trust Breslow on this one. If he thought it was an urgent problem he'd address it. I have to think Wong is doing stuff in the defensive area that they're satisfied with.
  13. One hilarious thing is that he seems to think we're a bunch of youngsters here. 😄 (Fully aware this will launch a fresh barrage of insults from him.)
  14. True, but it does show how severe the attrition rate is. They won it with 2 guys who had missed a lot of the season and one deadline acquisition.
  15. sk7326 is one of the most reasonable and well informed posters on this site.
  16. And as soon as we trade for him, Talksox would start howling incessantly to lock him up with a monstrous extension. You know how this works.
  17. Gallen was really good right up to 2024. As fans, we are basically just miserable pr**ks. 😀
  18. Qualifier: a great SP who stays healthy can do that. As I recall, Gerrit Cole used to do that.
  19. Hee hee, good point...a couple of Buehler-like starts from Gallen, and Talksox would be hanging Breslow. I don't think we should give up on Buehler just yet, either. I'm sure he's working hard with Bailey to fix the issues he's having. Of course I'm not sure his much-repaired arm can do much about the issues...
  20. As great as Skenes has been, I'm not sure the Sox are ready to have the contract he would command and Crochet's contract both on the books. And there are other pitchers to be paid as well.
  21. Regarding Wong, I have to trust Breslow on this one. I think he has given me enough reason to trust him.
  22. I agree. You don't trade guys like Anthony or Mayer. (Ducks the incoming "I'd trade anybody in the right deal" posts.)
  23. Eovaldi would be an excellent target.
