  1. It's preposterous to blame Cora for Kluber or Pivetta sucking. The one criticism that has merit is sticking with Kike too long at SS. But even that was a situation not created by Cora, and it wasn't totally unreasonable to think that a good second baseman like Kike could play SS.
  2. I'm probably the biggest Cora fanboy on this forum. I hardly ever criticize a single thing he does. I think he's about as good as you can ask for.
  3. It's not a big deal to me one way or the other, just jabbering. But it's nice to see a guy like that do well two years in a row. And he got an extension out of it.
  4. Most of the cut-rate old guys Bloom picked up are doing well. Kluber is the exception.
  5. What a broad spectrum of opinions we have here.
  6. Last year Refsnyder had an .881 OPS, including a .792 OPS against righties. Don't see a problem.
  7. Turner doing his best to offset the disaster known as Kluber!
  8. No, I said you'd be nuts to make a bet on it at the time.
  9. This is why OPS is such a fun stat!
  10. 'Twas 8, in fact.
  11. Henry has the most enigmatic smile since the Mona Lisa.
  12. It kind of feels like Major League Baseball has gone down the rabbit hole this year.
  13. https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/15/us/conor-mcgregor-sexual-assault-allegation-miami-nba-game/index.html
  14. Into the heart of the Norris Division we go.
  15. And as you probably know, if allegations are true, that wasn't even the end of McGregor's evening.
  16. Make Wally participate in a product promo with Conor McGregor!
  17. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
  18. Can't argue with the results, that's for sure. And this team has shown some resilience this year through a lot of issues.
  19. Duvall might have some more Mr. Clutch material left in him.
  20. Maybe Paxton had a clause in his contract that he gets Father's Day off.
  21. Modern baseball, folks. Paxton will have a week off between starts, while Ort starts a game against the Yankees.
  22. Why didn't Paxton start this game? He last pitched on June 12. I haven't seen any explanation and no one else seems to be asking the question. Weird.
  23. It's a rabbit hole. But for some reason a lot of folks do like diving down rabbit holes...
  24. Houck is going to be gone for a while, so that's a blow to our chances. Though obviously it could have been a lot worse.
  25. There may be some negative developments in modern players too. Maybe their increased size and muscularity has made them more injury-prone. Also, modern players might be more subject to things like lack of hustle and mental errors, due to the amount of money in the game, the general move away from hard-nosed disciplinarian managerial approach etc. Note that I'm not stating any of that as firm beliefs...just possibilities to be considered.
