  1. But E-Rod is drawing a decent salary. He'd be one of LA's highest paid players.
  2. Since they moved him to the pen this year: 48.1 IP 2.23 ERA 2.80 FIP .471 OPSa
  3. 4.39 ERA and 103 ERA+ (better than average) with the Red Sox. A #3 to #4 starter, on average.
  4. Pivetta's numbers are far from terrible.
  5. That won't tell you much either, because most of his relief appearances have been long ones.
  6. A 5th starter AT BEST who led the team in innings last year by a mile, and is second this year.
  7. I don't think any of us have been expecting much, frankly. The biggest move we've seen from Chaim the past two deadlines was the trade for the injured Schwarber, which worked out great, but the fact that was the biggest move says a lot.
  8. This West Coast mini-skid can't be doing much to motivate the Tortoise to buy...
  9. We all love Raffy, but he's not having a great season - on pace for 3 fWAR.
  10. The Vaz trade was fine. I can't get excited about the Diekman-McGuire trade. I don't like McGuire and the cash saved either went to yacht upgrades or new earrings for Linda.
  11. Chaim is a Tortoise.
  12. No wonder. Effing Gagne!
  13. And the Sox failed twice, and didn't even advance the ghost to third base either time.
  14. The big and obvious question is, can we really deem Bloom's work for 2023 a success if the team misses the playoffs?
  15. Don't you think re-signing Kike has to be included in his moves for 2023 even though it was done a little early? It had a significant impact on the payroll.
  16. I think we have to include bringing back Kike for $10 mill.
  17. Consider it done!
  18. "The main thing is we got Kluber", he said bitterly.
  19. The peculiar thing is that in 2022 he hit .909 with RISP and .889 with men on base. This year's numbers are much weaker at .705 and .747, though still not drastically below his overall numbers.
  20. No. My comments were strictly in response to moon's post.
  21. Trading Verdugo is looking likely. Getting back a controlled starting pitcher is the questionable part. Presumably they'd have to throw in a good prospect or two for that return...
  22. Can't you just see Chaim and the spreadsheet guys conferring in the boardroom right now? "Hmmm, those 2 losses to the Giants pushed our chances of making the playoffs back under 40%...we all agreed that if we were under 40% on July 31, we're in Sell Mode..."
  23. As another poster mentioned, the only deadline trade rumors involving the Sox are about Paxton, Duvall and now Verdugo...
  24. No, you wussed out.
  25. Bogaerts does have a 2.5 fWAR, though. What's the Red Sox fWAR for the SS position this year?
