But what are the examples of him playing X over Y when Y was clearly the guy that should have been playing?
The only concrete example I've seen is playing Kike over Reyes at SS.
I don't see where Cora was presented with a lot of good options in these cases.
As Max will tell you, we ended up with a better record when Kike played than without him anyway...
It's really hard to say with Henry anymore. Maybe the reason we didn't spend more than $10 mill on the rotation was that Henry didn't want to spend much on it. And when he saw the results he used Bloom as the scapegoat.
But frankly, you didn't need to be Alex Cora to see that we needed a starting pitcher or two. When do we get to the point that Cora can actually talk JH into spending in that area again?
I guess we'll find out real soon.
Bloom obviously had a much different mission than DD did. There was no way Bloom was trading a bunch of top prospects. It's not what he was hired to do, and I'm sure it's not what he wanted to do.
Other thread for Bauer please! Here's the link.

I'm not calling anyone whiners or apologists.
Bloom was handed a difficult assignment, no question.
But he made some big mistakes and apparently was very indecisive. If he had done better he'd probably still have the job.
