  1. Chaim was quite a ditherer.
  2. He really is the go-to dipshit, isn't he?
  3. Which Hamilton - Caleb, David or Alexander?
  4. My source is the normally unimpeachable mvp78.
  5. No, Eovaldi came back and said I'll take that offer now. Did Bloom have no option but to decline?
  6. On the guys he signed. There was only $10 mill left in Lowball Johnny's budget.
  7. Allegedly, when Nate came back looking for that initial offer a second time Chaim said he was sorry but the money was spent! Such was Chaim's fatal final offseason.
  8. Yoshida for Soto.
  9. Regardless, he was easily signable. Injury risk goes without saying. But he was easily signable.
  10. For not signing him when Nate came back looking for that offer a second time. But again I guess you can blame Henry's penny-pinching budget just as much.
  11. If we could completely drop the resting discussion, it would suit me fine. Another topic that's reached dead horse status, I'd say.
  12. Closer by committee?
  13. Jeez, all of a sudden he's Alex the Assassin here.
  14. The WooSox pitching coach was also fired.
  15. I thought that might happen.
  16. Henry f***ed up, Bloom is taking the fall for it.
  17. What's that about - Yoshida?
  18. Jeezus, I fact check everyone here. And everyone fact checks me. Putting it in your sig line, though? I can do stupid s*** like that, too.
  19. Heh. I thought it was kind of funny. At the time. Not so funny later.
  20. To me the interesting development is that Mookie says there were negotiations while Bloom was here. It sounds like Bloom was the guy who had to try to explain to Mookie about the Sox payroll issues and plans for the future and so on...to justify why they could only go so high. "They were in a situation where they had to do what's best for them", said Mookie.
  21. Soto is not getting more than he turned down, IMHO.
  22. I get the Chapman idea, absolutely. Our defense was atrocious. Chapman has been a 3.5-4 WAR player and is super-durable. Needless to say, Chapman is only in the picture if Henry decides to spend big this offseason.
  23. There were signs of rampant inflation prior to the Devers signing, though, capped by the insane contract Bogaerts got.
  24. I'm guessing he's a smart guy and saw the future of the franchise wouldn't be so rosy. Or maybe he didn't like Washington. But it sure was one heck of a pile of dough to turn down.
  25. And here I am trying to get on board with a minimum wage guy.
