  1. Sham is a comedian.
  2. Lots of s***** moves and non-moves the past two years though. Story, JBJ, Yoshida, Kike, Kluber. No good starters signed for 2023. Bloom did not have the margin for error that permits that kind of shittiness.
  3. Yep, wonderful payroll management by Chaim the last two years, other than the back to back 78 win seasons for $460 million and the getting fired parts.
  4. They'll find one, but the pickings are a lot slimmer than they figured. Rightfully so.
  5. He's clutch, man.
  6. Eovaldi was absolutely huge for the Rangers in this series.
  7. Something Red Sox and Yankee fans can agree on.
  8. It's funny, it seems like nobody here cares that much who the next CBO is. It used to be a big deal. But now we're all so jaded by all Henry's hirings and firings and don't expect anyone to last for long anyway...
  9. Haven't you been uttering them throughout this series? Or do you just mean not that exact phrase?
  10. The only thing that can positively impact 2024 is some aggressive and smart spending/trading this offseason. Nothing else much matters.
  11. And how does anything change if Henry doesn't change?
  12. I can also see why some are leery about the way the Sox have been doing things, period.
  13. But I thought the only objection to trading for him was that he was injured at the time.
  14. Yeah, but no way he wasn't getting a 2-3 year deal.
  15. Not sure why.
  16. So even with perfect hindsight you can't find moves that would have put the team in the playoffs either year? Are you sure you're really trying?
  17. The Manfred agenda is maximizing butts in seats, eyeballs on screens, and easy access to betting.
  18. Schwarber has a career OPS+ of 121 and can hit the ball out of Jellystone Park. His postseason OPS of .931 is fairly nifty, too.
  19. Yoshida is about as useful in LF as JDM was.
  20. Trading JD would have meant taking a money bath, I get that. If Bloom did not view Yoshida as a DH, that means Bloom made a very dumb mistake.
  21. Could have signed Schwarber prior to 2022 and traded JD. Then Yoshida becomes irrelevant.
  22. Yes, he's a textbook DH. Just like Yoshida. And I'd much rather have Schwarber than Yoshida.
  23. But how do you explain the decision to fire Bloom?
  24. Once they went from 2 divisions to 3 in each league, a champ like the 2006 Cardinals was inevitable.
  25. Henry doesn't suck as a person. He's impatient and he's become mercurial. Maybe the departure of Lucchino had a bigger impact than we thought it might. Lucchino understood PR and how you to have to keep the customer satisfied to keep the cash cow in full health.
