  1. It's incredible that doctors equipped with state of the art technology can't detect these things. Maybe that's where more money should be going...
  2. Jeezus, this just got the fastest answer ever.
  3. Might have had something to do with last year's late collapse.
  4. Brasier has been reborn as a well-paid near-stud on a World Series favorite!
  5. Sounds like a wickedly time-consuming exercise in futility.
  6. Right, but losses at the top move everyone up the ladder and reduce depth.
  7. Based on the chatter he's generating, Jacques seems to have the potential to be this year's Kaleb Ort.
  8. There's much more randomness in all that than we care to admit, I think. Kimmi where are you?
  9. We do have an easy early schedule. But starting on the West Coast gives us the Willies. That was how 2019 started.
  10. Does it? What if Giolito is Kluber Redux?
  11. So you think we've seen the last of him?
  12. And when he's gone the focus will turn to the new worst one.
  13. Joe Jacques is trending on every thread.
  14. Maybe he's still on Bailey's "I can fix him" list.
  15. The only thing is, they may have already decided long ago that it isn't happening and the plan is to go all in on Houck and Whitlock as starters.
  16. I don't care how good analytics people are, there's still going to be a lot of randomness in the results, because that's just the way baseball is.
  17. And how many of them are anal retentive?
  18. Also looks like a correlation between analytics investment and market size, with the Rays being a serious outlier.
  19. The ******** line they keep using about not spending, though, is "we didn't line up". They could have used that line about Betts and about all the starting pitchers they haven't signed the last few offseasons. "We didn't line up." A cynic like me reads this quite simply as "we didn't want to pay what they wanted, so they went to a team that did".
  20. As The Roster Churns
  21. Sox are 6-3 in spring games. Update those samples, moon!
  22. To me it just sounds like the "don't worry, we'll spend again when the time's right" message they've been feeding us for months.
  23. Chapman's deal has an opt out after both years. That would be no good for the Sox. Changing multiple guys' positions for a player who might be gone next year? Don't think so.
  24. Dalbec will be history when he's history. He's been surviving like a cockroach for a while now.
