  1. Whether he was hurt or it was the divorce or what it was, Giolito's horrific finish last year was a red flag of some sort. It was another dumpster dive, but a more expensive one than any of Chaim's.
  2. Our record at the end of 2024 might scare him too.
  3. So he knew he was pitching injured all through those 147 innings in 2019? He must have been crazy.
  4. I'm going to call that an understatement.
  5. He's got 38.5 mill and a lot of time off, he should be having a good time.
  6. Look, if folks can attribute getting shelled repeatedly to going through a divorce, I don't see how suggesting he might have been injured is off limits. I don't know that's what it was for sure, how many times do I have to say it.
  7. Yet another no hitter that was followed up by disaster.
  8. So you agree now that the Sale signing was defensible?
  9. These guys have been known to pitch in pain. Like Sale in 2019 no doubt. And don't forget it was a contract year for Giolito.
  10. Sale passed his physical too.
  11. Giolito's guaranteed money is 38.5 million, no?
  12. More like quadruple the money.
  13. When the guy gets injured in spring training, combined with how he finished last year, it would be absurd to rule out that he was pitching hurt. I never said it was for sure. Kind of a double standard here.
  14. I'll take that as evidence you're not here very much.
  15. Now it's being reported that Giolito was working on throwing his slider 2-3 MPH harder as part of the new ramp-up-the-velo program.
  16. I'm not saying I know for sure. Save your preaching.
  17. Right, like the "experts" who chalked up his numbers to his divorce.
  18. A stretch as horrific as he had often turns out to be injury-related. That's not a controversial statement.
  19. No comparison.
  20. It should also have tipped off Breslow that he was an extremely risky signing. The guy had one of the worst stretches ever seen.
  21. That's what I've been saying too. Blaming it all on his divorce always seemed a little strange to me. Seemed like there were other possibilities in play...
  22. When a guy finishes a season like Giolito did last year, it's a gigantic red flag.
  23. Yeah, I think this is much more about the machines than the men.
  24. Where the hell was that imaging before we signed him...
  25. Grissom and Giolito. Not a great start for Crag's acquisitions.
