  1. Some might argue it's just regular old capitalism and markets at work. It's not pretty, but neither is the alternative.
  2. Crawford has been pitching well.
  3. I don't know. I just figure that if the Yankees were prepared to trade a decent package for one guaranteed year of Soto, they're prepared to try to keep him, too.
  4. Why put yourself through it? Anyway, the Yankees will probably extend him and get the pain out of the way early for you...
  5. I would guess that Monty gave up on the 7 years a while ago...
  6. Most players are flawed, for the ones that aren't the flaw is the price tag. And how do we know exactly what they were expecting?
  7. We should all doubt that with every fiber of our beings...

  14. Something was up with the Boras client freeze-out.
  15. Our big upgrade is Andrew Bailey.
  16. Income taxes, that is. There are plenty of other taxes, though.
  17. Vegas has them at 77.5, so that 78th win would definitely be a biggie for a lot of people.
  18. It's a trend now though. AL East is historically strong, or something like that.
  19. It sort of feels like this team is set up to replicate 2023. Get off to a good start and ultimately collapse as the rotation breaks down.
  20. Because I have a numbers fetish I have an awful hunch they're going to pull off a three-peat of 78's.
  21. Those are pretty solid.
  22. You have said that repeatedly, but I don't think anyone has ever agreed with you.
  23. And they did sign an innings eater, but he won't throw a pitch for us this year, so they might want to think about signing another innings eater to take his place...
