  1. OK let's just amend to "keeping it".
  2. They have to keep starter lanes open for all of Houck, Whitlock and Criswell. No room for Montgomery, and Henry gets to pocket a bunch of money under the tax threshold.
  3. If it was Ohtani doing the gambling, how dumb would he have to be to keep making bank transfers to a bookie that as we can see, were easily identified as such.
  4. Frankly, the only thing that makes sense is that Ohtani was absolutely in the know about the money going to the bookie. And as seems to be the consensus, the best story for Ohtani was actually the first one, that he did it to bail out a friend, even if that story has some nasty legal consequences of its own. Between this and Yamamoto giving up 5 runs in an inning, that was one heck of a bad day for the Dodgers.
  5. $4.5 million now, and... $7.5 million between 2034 and 2038 - seriously. Even Steve Cohen is down to digging change out of the sofa, it seems. A sudden and terrible cash crunch in MLB!
  6. The Ohtani story looks incredibly bad because as many are saying, it simply makes no sense that the interpreter could transfer all that money from his boss's account without Ohtani knowing about it. All kinds of rules governing bank transfers of that size and so on.
  7. Yep, Cora projects a late April return. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/red-soxs-vaughn-grissom-could-be-back-by-late-april/
  8. Strange stuff. Interpreter's first story was that Ohtani paid off the debt for him.
  9. Heinz ketchup's back Theo's back Netflix doc announced Highlights of the Sox offseason.
  10. At some point their allocation of resources might come into question.
  11. The Korean actress who threw out the first pitch in the first game was smoking.
  12. They're more likely to sign one of us than one of those two.
  13. You really have some Pollyanna in you. Nothing wrong with that.
  14. Didn't see the play, but his work at SS and the decision to move him there will definitely be under scrutiny.
  15. Mookie off to a pretty good start to his 2024 season.
  16. Yamamoto has a 45.00 ERA after his major league debut, and a long wait till he gets a chance to improve it.
  17. To keep producing crappy teams that don't sniff the playoffs can't be the healthiest thing for the cash cow.
  18. Kevin Mitchell was also a key player in the 10th inning of Game 6 of the 1986 WS, damn him.
  19. They never listen to us.
  20. "Go If You Want To" could even be used as a promotional slogan.
  21. Somebody had to start.
  22. And isn't a big part of Breslow and Bailey's approach to increase the velo?
  23. As far as the 2024 Sox are concerned, I seem to have gone through all the stages of grief, and now accept that they're probably going to suck again and that the owners don't really care that much about it. There's certainly nothing any of us can do about it, other than voice our opinions.
  24. It's the old "choose your battles" thing, I suspect.
  25. Yeah, I'd say players are much easier to sympathize with, when you see the money these franchises are raking in from fans and the general public.
