  1. From what I've read there aren't many going there this year either.
  2. The Yankees have not been getting much of an infusion of talent from their farm system. They had high hopes for Dominguez but he's been very mediocre so far. And Volpe of course has been struggling mightily after getting off to a strong start.
  3. None of us has a damn clue who does what in baseball orgs any more, which of course doesn't stop us from speculating our butts off. I'm sure AC has a voice in a lot of stuff, based on how loyal they've been to him and the apparently legit rumors that he's expected to remain in the org after managing.
  4. Kirby Yates got 13 million. I think for Chapman you're looking at 16-17 million or more given the season he's having and assuming it continues.
  5. I'd say a reasonable objective for 2025 was to make the postseason any which way. If we follow through and achieve that, Breslow certainly deserves much of the credit. He has made some excellent moves, no doubt about that.
  6. Re-sign Chapman, sure. What gets it done is the question. 1 year guaranteed at mucho dinero plus a vesting option for a second year?
  7. Lowe is off to a phenomenal start in a Red Sox uniform. The only question is why he was so bad with the Nats. Did the Sox hitting gurus see something that needed to be tweaked? Needless to say if he keeps going good you'd be nutty not to want him as the 2026 1B. I agree with notin that I would just be happy with having him for a year at the arb price for 2026.
  8. Fried was on his game Friday, not much you can do when a pitcher of his caliber is executing.
  9. And the next lefty he'll face is Rodon who is also pretty good. He wasn't brought up to wait around until we get to face a crappy lefty.
  10. Hard to say, but Fried had been struggling before last night, and Rodon is having as good a season or better than Fried. They probably wanted to get him some AB's as soon as possible to get a little acclimated. He'll probably be seeing mostly lefties.
  11. Whoa. Explain the part about "without regards for player splits". That's a pretty big statement. Need some specifics.
  12. One thing I noticed on the replay of Anthony's homer Thursday was how "quiet" his swing and follow-through were, perfectly smooth and balanced with no wasted effort and everything synched up.
  13. Heck of a start. Also worth noting that in his last game with the Nats he had a grand slam and 2 walks. Thank you Nats!
  14. Sorry Brock, I don't predict much of anything when it comes to major league baseball, the most random entity in the sports world. All I do is watch and hope.
  15. "Fun" - great adjective there. Are you going to be dropping in here at all this weekend?
  16. I think the conventional wisdom for Fenway has been that you put your good fielder with speed in center and your good fielder with a cannon arm in right.
  17. A lot of the yuck factor with Masa comes from the $105 million he's costing the team.
