All's I know is that I have a pretty comfortable feeling about Breslow being the right guy to run this team for a while. My main source of anxiety right now is Cora's status for next year. -
Oddly enough I saw a comparison elsewhere between Aaron Judge and Primo Carnera.

I guess it'll have to be said a zillion times, but none of us wanted that contract. The Red Sox just didn't make a serious effort at a reasonable new extension.

I think that was Lowball Johnny's work again. Lester, Betts, Bogaerts.

And I think Bloom was just the hatchet man with Bogaerts too. Henry had to sign off on that insult offer they made.

I like the fact that you can still limit the appearance to 1 or 2 batters if they are the final outs of the inning and you get the job done. I think that makes it a fair compromise.

Bogaerts is doing better than Story since Bogaerts joined the Padres. And Bogaerts still has a few months to contribute to the Padres this year.

I have no doubt that the Red Sox front office feels exactly the same way. If they do buy it will be something more along the lines of the moves DD made in 2018.

He pushed back free agency by one year. The Red Sox team option was for 2025. The Braves team option is for 2026.

They got incredibly lucky when they chanced into Breslow, because I think Breslow is the one who landed Bailey.

Yeah, with some kids, the more new toys they get, the more bored they get with them.

I think having some hindsight on this deal is fair, because I don't think anyone thought at the time that the only addition would be Giolito. We were all dreaming bigger than that, and that played into assessments of this move.

"OK prospect" came from mvp, who knows prospects much better than me, so take it up with him.

He cares from the perspective that dead money is bad for the relationship between payroll and on-field success. The Devers extension is looking like a good investment, for the moment at least.

JH isn't shelling out a nickel. He's just getting fatter and fatter. Fans fund the team.

Sounds like he was just exploiting the rules. I suspect Giants fans cared more about the 3 rings.

It's silly to speculate about whether they thought he would be healthy. Reality confirms it was very much possible. And your statement about Giolito is also pure unfounded speculation.
