  1. Bingo...10 times as much product.
  2. The accountants for Anibal Sanchez and B. J. Upton think baseball is doin' just fine.
  3. Forbes Magazine March 27, 2013 The average MLB team is valued at $744 million, 23% higher than last year.
  4. But again, revenues are up. Just check out Forbes Business of Baseball reports. Or the price the Dodgers sold for.
  5. Baseball attendance may be down, but TV revenues are way up and market values of teams are way up.
  6. In what way is baseball dying a slow death?
  7. The CERA gap between Ross and Salty is widening. Ross 2.69 Salty 3.85. If it continues it'll be the third straight year Salty is more than a run worse than the other catcher. For whatever reason, whenever we give up a pile of runs like the 9-7 game, it seems like Salty's behind the plate. Overall he does seem to be better though.
  8. If this keeps up he'll be 'Demps'.
  9. I can understand your skepticism. But this would be an extremely weird way to go about giving Hanrahan back the job. And needless to say, if Hanrahan doesn't get the job done everyone would be screaming for Bailey very quickly. So for now I'll buy the sore bicep story.
  10. But even if that were so, you'd think Bailey would have pitched somewhere in this series.
  11. No, Bailey must have a health issue of some kind. Hopefully a minor and temporary one. I'm pretty sure we'll know by tomorrow what it is.
  12. Sox beat writers Abraham & Finn also wondering what's up with Bailey.
  13. Something that gets forgotten about is that Napoli was Blue Jays property, briefly, before the 2011 season. They got him from the Angels in the Vernon Wells dump. But then they flipped to him to Texas for the immortal Frank Francisco. I thought it was strange that they let him go so easily. I think he would do OK playing half his games in Rogers Centre...
  14. I knew Napoli was a strong guy but I didn't realize how strong. He can crush a baseball like very few hitters I've seen.
  15. As it says on the new Napoli thread, the first bomb he hit last night off Buehrle went even further at 472 feet. So that's two homers totaling 939 feet.
  16. The Jays big offseason does look like a disastrous failure at this point.
  17. Napoli last 17 games - 333/405/727. 4 HR, 12 2B, 23 RBI.
  18. Home Run Tracker says it was 467 feet. That's the 5th longest home run in the majors this season. Trumbo has the lead with a 475 foot shot.
  19. He's off to a brilliant start.
  20. Napoli's been on an unbelievable tear. I'll have some numbers on that tomorrow.
  21. Especially with Captain Ahab at the helm.
  22. Tiny sample obviously, but Carp's numbers are crazy. He's got 27 total bases in 25 AB's for a slugging pct. of 1.080.
  23. Have to check that on the Home Run Tracker website tomorrow.
  24. Their pitching stinks and Weaver is on the shelf. And they're not even winning the slugfests.
  25. Depends what you call a good life I guess.
