  1. Ha ha...the Yankees lose and so do the Orioles, as Jim Johnson gives up 2 in the 9th. We're up 3.5 games somehow.
  2. What you're leaving out of all that is the team's W-L record. Depending on the outcome of tomorrow night's game with the Jays they'll be either on a 94-win pace or a 96-win pace at the halfway point.
  3. Melancon seems to have had anxiety issues with the Yankees and the Red Sox. Maybe they should have kept him. But who the hell knows...
  4. Joba Chamberlain is truly the gift that keeps on giving.
  5. Incredible rack. The rest of her is all there too.
  6. Why haven't the Yanks released Joba yet?
  7. Go Rangers, go Tribe. At least one of you anyway.
  8. Dick Pole, Peter LaCock, and Rusty Kuntz. Now these are the Hall of Famers of dirty names.
  9. The very first game I ever saw at Fenway, the winning pitcher was Dick Pole.
  10. At one time the Jays had Dave Bush and Brandon League. And they pitched in the same game sometimes. I thought the Bush League thing was hilarious, but I think I was the only one on the planet who did.
  11. It's too bad Jimmy Gobble is no longer in the big leagues.
  12. You're not reading all Fred's posts obviously.
  13. Good thing I checked the MLB scoreboard...didn't know it was an early start.
  14. Fred, I think that Red Sox management is a lot less trigger-happy on these things than most message board posters.
  15. I think you also have to include Ortiz. There were a lot of complaints about his deal.
  16. Or Tazawa as relief ace/backup closer.
  17. Cashman has been a good GM for the Yanks but the guy is actually a nutjob. I'm surprised the Yankees have tolerated his antics this long. Can you imagine if Ben Cherington had a 'Fatal Attraction' stalker like Cash did?
  18. I think we should hold off on that. But I like the guy a lot so I'm not very objective about it.
  19. Based on a small sample though.
  20. Better yet, drill one off Steve Tyler when he's in the Monster seats.
  21. I think Napoli will go on another nice RBI run soon. And if he stays healthy I think his numbers at the end of the year will be solid.
  22. Yeah, he seems to have cut down on his swing a bit. Finally got tired of all the mighty swishes.
  23. I know that 'closer by committee' is like a dirty word, but it seems to me that a tandem of Uehara and Tazawa could work.
