  1. Of course he cheated. But I have no idea why that makes it end of story. Do we live in a simple black-and-white world? I don't think so.
  2. Yeah, it is a little strange. Maybe it's because he doesn't come across as an overpowering pitcher at all. He just gets the job done.
  3. This is a situation where both the seller and the buyer are highly motivated and well positioned. I think a deal will probably get done, after some serious haggling. The only other team considered to be a good match is St. Louis, but they don't need Lee as much.
  4. Lee is listed as probable for Friday. The guy is pretty durable. Well over 1,000 innings the last 5 years.
  5. Yeah, that's a little too much to stomach. I think BenCh is going to get it down to two top prospects and a lesser one.
  6. This is just my own personal take completely. I do believe in degrees of crime. I think in the PED's scale what Pettitte did was clearly wrong and punishable, but just not in the same category as what Clemens did. Clemens used PED's to win 3 Cy Young awards and then denied it to the world. Maybe Pettitte doesn't look so bad to me because I compare him to Clemens. And I probably like the fact that he ratted on Clemens.
  7. Wrong thread guy LOL what is wrong with us here.
  8. Yes it was unquestionably a horrible decision to use Nava there instead of Iglesias.
  9. Tonight's math...2 doubles + 1 sac fly + 3 blunders = 0 runs. Drew crushed that ball too. s***.
  10. And f*** you ump.
  11. In ERA, they're 7th, but they could be 3rd next week. The differences are pretty small. In park adjusted ERA+ they're even closer to the top.
  12. Home plate umpiring is beautiful isn't it?
  13. Not much you can do, he's only thrown 9 balls, and the strikes are not exactly meatballs.
  14. His last sac bunt was in 2008.
  15. Uh oh, you're not one of those bunt guys are you?
  16. Doubrant has gone more than 6 innings each of his last 5 starts.
  17. Pedroia is breaking out of it tonight.
  18. 2006 had a lot to do with injuries.
  19. Build around Peavy? That's just funny.
  20. I don't really like to look at it this way, but we could finish third in the ALE and still make the playoffs.
  21. Anything can happen, needless to say, but I see no reason to expect a collapse at this point.
  22. Are you serious or joking about the second part?
  23. You don't think there are degrees of abuse?
  24. Has to be the Rays, because of their starting pitching.
  25. One thing I shake my head about with Mauer's contract is that the Twins' new ballpark was bad for his home run production. When you sign a $184 million contract with a player maybe you should consider doing something about this?
