  1. Don't worry about that Kimmi, the players will never stop entertaining us with boneheaded mistakes like Leon getting picked off third last night.
  2. Interesting thing about pinch hitting, and this isn't aimed at Farrell, but it usually fails. Red Sox pinch hitters have an OPS of .487. AL pinch hitters have an OPS of .612.
  3. I'd like to know the % of bad calls that are no-doubters, outside the gray zone, like the 2 against Bradley.
  4. OK - who do we give up in return?
  5. This argument doesn't really work because the game was designed so long ago, in a whole different world. No one knows what Abner Doubleday would have thought of the new technology. Maybe he would have liked it.
  6. I enjoy the umps but only when they're making the right calls. When they blow calls I get angry at them.
  7. Baseball is such a precarious game. If we had scored with the bases loaded and no outs in Game 1....if Koji was still Koji...we'd be 2-1 in this series instead of 0-3.
  8. One of the eternal mysteries, isn't it? As I was absorbing the pain of last night's loss and 3 brutal ones in a row, it hit me - 'Oh my God, I'm already looking forward to tomorrow's game.'
  9. Vicious, but pretty good, I have to admit.
  10. You need to attend every game then. I hope you're up to it.
  11. Fingers and everything else crossed, he looks better tonight.
  12. Leon is off to a hilariously good start at the plate. It won't be pretty when it starts correcting, but it's fun while it lasts.
  13. Tonight's ump has a very interesting strike zone...Gameday is disagreeing with him quite a bit. I'm not bitching, just observing...
  14. I love it when an announcer says something like this about a pitcher: 'When you're around the plate all the time, you're more likely to get the benefit of the doubt on borderline calls...' That's great stuff!
  15. John Henry did say he thought it would be a 'big disaster' if the Sox missed the playoffs in Ortiz's final year.
  16. All of which highlights the boneheaded blunders of the Sox FO letting him go.
  17. Fair enough. But I think Boddicker is the last guy resembling a #2 starter, which is what most people think we need now.
  18. Holy crap, you're right.
  19. Sport does fall in a different category though. If sport was only about optimum performance PED's would be a good thing.
  20. Curry can take the ball to the hole too.
  21. There are guys that are horrible that are only playing because they're being paid so much (Howard). There are other guys that are horrible that get jettisoned because the team is willing to eat the bad dough (Craig).
  22. I'm exactly the same. It's a treat when someone else does the legwork on the minor league guys LOL
  23. Nope, Santa Claus came early in that one.
  24. I'm more like the guy in the Monty Python sketch who's just looking for a good argument. (I wish they had better smileys here. The selection of emoticons they have on the music forum I just joined a while ago is beautiful LOL)
