  1. This means Clay can go back in the rotation. He had a 2.48 ERA pitching to Leon last year.
  2. But players who are in good physical shape also get a myriad of injuries. I don't think anyone ever suggested guys like Fred Lynn or Dustin Pedroia or Ellsbury or Teixeira get a lot of injuries because they're out of shape.
  3. Watch the Ryder Cup sometime and tell me golf isn't a sport. No less than Michael Jordan says it's his favorite single sporting event.
  4. I'll clarify me: Injury likelihood is what I've been talking about through all of this.
  5. "A measure of success" - what a great phrase.
  6. Just another rush to judgment.
  7. Yes, especially when he might be out for the season.
  8. Yeah, I thought MLB might be ahead of the NBA in injuries. Pro football is a game that probably shouldn't even be played. It's basically designed to shred the human body.
  9. You can take the posters out of BDC, but it's sheer hell getting BDC out of some of the posters.
  10. Swihart's injury wasn't wear and tear, it was a collision with a wall. Holt has a concussion. Sam Travis is now out for the year after tearing his ACL making a tag on a rundown play. All young guys. There are a lot of 'freakish' injuries in baseball. That's the whole point. There are so many freakish injuries that it's reasonable to conclude that freakish injuries are an integral part of the game.
  11. What about our boy Freddie Lynn, moon? How many times do we hear it - "probably would have been in the Hall of Fame if not for all the injuries".
  12. And there are guys that just get forgotten about, like Workman, who is probably toast.
  13. Or Carson Smith. There's no shortage of evidence.
  14. Tell Swihart right now that baseball is easy on the body.
  15. Pro bowling does have one similarity to pitching a baseball, because the strike ball in bowling requires a twisting of the wrist that imparts a lot of side-spin.
  16. That doesn't count as rooting for the Yankees. Your only interest would be in a result that's beneficial for the Red Sox.
  17. Which makes it about the same as ours.
  18. How can you say that, moon. Did you see what happened to Swihart yesterday? And injuries like that happen all the time in baseball. I think baseball is actually one of the hardest sports on the body because it involves a lot of unnatural movements and awkward positions.
  19. Here's the enigma. He mowed them down cleanly yesterday.
  20. This dispels the notion that it's too early to make a deal.
  21. It's incredible the health issues that guy has had.
  22. The only position in baseball that's an actual grind is catcher.
  23. Agreed, they would have no interest in being saddled with paying about $50 million to Castillo.
  24. Sorry, should have said little kids. Dumb.
