    Expecting a .390 OBP from the kid in his rookie season is a bit much IMO. After Ortiz, the highest OBP on this year's team is Pedroia at .378, and that's 12 points above his career number.

    Yes, I do find it frustrating that we can't even consider something like Schilling's postseason numbers meaningful. We almost have to define what 'meaningful' actually means in this context.

    I think it might depend on exactly what information the Padres withheld about Pomeranz. The other issue with him is his jump in innings pitched.
